1 Attachment(s) my heart reaaly is so sad with these people he was vey adorable but no papers the lady never once called me she just wanted to drop the baby off and get her money what kind of evil woman is she???she doesnt know me!!!!how could you just give your baby away to someone who you've never seen???? please correct me if i am wrong thanx cathy |
That baby looks too young to be going home with anyone. You did the right thing in walking away. It is so important to find a reputable breeder, especially with health issues being so common in yorkies...Yorkies have a very high incidence of LP and are 36 times more likely to have a liver shunt than all other breeds combined. Good Luck in your search. |
thanx a lot for that, but my question is how would i know if a any time my baby will need a liver shunt???or will have lp?? |

You are definetely wise to really do your research first. You will find what you are looking for! |
thank you again your opinions to me are very important:) |
pup Buy from a reputable Yorkie breeder who gives a one year genetic health contract for one thing...speak to their vet and get a reference and for goodness sakes do not buy from these buyers who are offering puppies so young..!!! PS..I see you are in my area..good luck, some of the poorest qualityYorkies I have seen are coming from breeders in this area...overpriced and undercared for... |
Sounds to me like she was trying to get you to fall in love first in the hopes that you wouldn't be able to say no and would just give her the money. Very sneaky. Glad you said no. |
I agree.. the puppy looks too young.. Ok to me, papers are not important at all!! I did get Kayah with registration papers.. I just never sent them out.. and Evie won't have any papers either.. and that's perfectly A-OK with me!! My dogs are my babies!! As long as they are healthy.. It doesn't matter! If one day, I do decide to breed, then papers are a different story.. But for now, It doesn't matter... Now, I would say that as long as it doesn't matter to you.. then papers shouldn't be a problem.. but since she just "dropped" by I don't like the sound of that |
I agree with everyone. You did the right thing. YorkieRose- Is soo right!!!! |
I have no opinion about this lady as I do not know her But here is what I will say When I was looking I saw so many breeders with AKC reg. dogs and they were ugly and funny looking and really incorrect colors, like gold mixed in the area of the blue. well some of the ones that were really adorable were not papered. I say at those prices both would be pet quality anyway. If you are not planning on breeding papers are worthless unless you just want to brag you have them. get a look at the parents and the living conditions and also a health guarantee or be able to chat with their vet. bottom line go to a professional SHOW breeder if you want quality and papers as I always say AN AKC REGISTERED DOG DOES NOT A SHOW QUALITY MAKE Not to say my boy is not beautiful he is (just know what you want in all aspects before you go buying and that is where the parents will play a huge part) If you like both parents chances are you'll like their offspring. GOOD LUCK:) |
What cute pics. I would say her not calling and wanting to drop the puppy off was a large red flag. Don't you hope these puppies are saved but who knows where they come from. |
pups It is the breeder who needs to be show quality in knowledge, ethics and reputation...look at the breeder first, for quality, not the puppy... |

:goodpost: Make sure you ask to see proof that the tests MyFairLacy mentions have been done. Many breeders will tell you they have health tested the parents when all they have done is keep up with the vaccinations and had basic annual physicals. Dr. Sharon Center is one of the leading authorities on liver disease and she recommends that all Yorkies have a bile acids test before they go to their new home. Not all breeders are routinely doing it so make sure you tell your breeder you want it done. As far as luxating patellas, when you bring your puppy in for her first checkup, you vet can easily check her knees. Even if her knees are okay, you will have to be very careful not to let your Yorkie jump on and off furniture as that can cause luxating patellas later on. By taking your time now to find a reputable breeder, you may save yourself big vet bills in the future. |
