Can I bathe my 13 week old puppy?? She is stinky and smells like urine. Is she too young? or would it be ok? |
Hi - I would with puppy shampoo... you just have to be very gentle or you can bring your baby in the shower with you...:) |

I know a lot of people do, but I have never taken mine in the shower with me. I am afraid the stream would be too strong for them. Would sure be easier though. |
Tessa was 10wks when I gave her a bath. Just make sure that she doesn't get a chill afterwards.:D |
Thank you guys! I am going to go get her some baby shampoo today. She is pewee. |
She is old enough to bathe. I would warm up a towel in the dryer |

I bathed mine the day I got her(less than 7 weeks)..I would use the puppy shampoo, and try not to get any water in her ears..Make sure you have a nice warm towel to dry her with after her bath, and then put the blow dryer on a medium heat(you don't want that too hot)...They do have wipes to clean them off with in between baths... |
My puppies get their first baths at 6 weeks. Then dried with a blow dryer to get them used to it. |
Just be very careful if you do it in the tub. I wouldn't let go for a second and I don't think I would even let them swim at this age. Are you gonna take picks?:) |
I bathe Lacy in the kitchen sink since I have the spray nozzel (and then I clean the sink afterwards ;) ) I've bathed her since I got her...at least once a week. I always dry her off and blow dry her...just make sure the dryer doesn't get too hot |
Does anybody else's dogs freak out at the hairdryer and act like your trying to kill them? Esp. my oldest girl. I just have to towel dry her as much as I can and then she runs around the house like a loon. |
I always warm a couple of towels in the dryer before I bathe my pup. She likes to cuddle with me in her warm towel after her bath. |

I got a room heater out...It was very cheap and doesn't get very hot, but it blows warm air. I blow dry for a few minutes (Sadie really hates the blow dryer...) But this past time after blow drying for a minute or two... I put the room dryer in front of her create and made sure there was tons of ventilation. I stayed right there and she was so happy to lie in her bed while warm air blew on her!!! It worked great but I would NEVER leave her for a second with this cause if it ever got too hot!!!! I also always turn my heat way up when they get baths till they are completely dry... |
My girls are afraid of the blow dryer:rolleyes: , so we turn up the heat and warm up their towels, and blankets. We towel dry the girls quickly then wrap them in a couple of dry towels and a warm blanket. Someone usually cuddles them for a while until they are almost dry. The house is quite warm until they are fully dry. ~Marly |
Mine too is scared of the hairdryer... but I lock myself in my (small) bathroom put the hairdryer on low and just aimed it at him saying weeeeeiiiiii ouuuulala your soooo beautiful...blablabla people would think I am crazy :p it helps and he knows after we are done he is going to get a treat!!!:D |
