Bad Pet Owners!!!! This is going to be a vent!!! I just returned home from a small park near my house wher my son plays. In walks a girl with 2 huge huskies. She lets them off leash and they proceed over to me and jump up at Chewy. I have him over my head holding him up by his harness. This girl doesn't do anything! No down or pulling them away, nothing. I tell her to get her dogs away from me, at this point they were jumping up on ME. She just said Oh they're friendly. Finally I had to yell at her to get her $#%%^&&* dogs off me or I'll call the police. She pulled them away and proeeded to let her dogs run off leash through a children's park! I walked up to her and threatened to call the police if she didn't leave. She said I was crazy and then left with her dogs. Why do people like this own pets, couldn't she have gone to a dog run??AAAAGGHHHHH |
holy sh*t I'd be pissed too, the nerve of that girl  |
I would have thrown a fit too. There is no reason why she should be there with her pets. You had more then enough right to get ticked. |
How discourteous can a person be? I'm sure that in her eyes they were friendly but to allow them to jump on people like that? People other than those that are her family members do not know these dogs! Isn't there a leash law or something? |
Some people are unbelievable! |
how dare she say "your crazy" the nurve of people nowadays... |
That is really upsetting considering the incident that happend where the Yorkie had his stomach ripped out :( by a Pit Bull which happen to be lose. How did they know they didn't see a steak when they laid eyes on Chewy!! Gosh people can be so ignorant!!!  Hugs, Irene |
you have a right to be mad, there are just some dogs that should not be off leash because they havent been taught any manners......... im actually guilty of letting my dog (my old golden) off leash practically everywhere, but the difference is that she was well mannered, she stayed by me, she wagged her tail at EVERYONE, and she NEVER barked (except that one time a guy was high on drugs and approached me........ she scared him off, but that was the only time....) yeah we have leash laws, but she was so well mannered that even the police would come up and pet her and ask me questions about her, i think maybe they thought she was a service dog on training or something (she was THAT good) |
Many people are very inconsiderate of others. My dogs have been attacked twice in the park while they were both on a leash! It is very frustrating, and there is no easy answer... |
SOME PEOPLE ARE JUST TOO STUPID  |
How old was the girl? An ignorant, arrogant(sp) teen? Or an ignoramus adult? Sylvia |
Wow! I cant believe someone would let their large dogs run off leash like that. How scarey! :thumbdown |

That makes me sick. What is wrong with people? You should'nt have had to tell her twice. She should have dealt with her dogs. I dont even let my 7 lb chihuahua jump up on people she doesnt know. Thats crazy! |
It really was the strangest thing. She was in her mid 20's and I still can't believe it. To let your dogs just jump all over someone and do nothing and then just stand there saying "they're really nice" i don't care if your dogs are nice, the point is, control your dogs and keep them on a leash. Poor Chewy was whining as I was holding with my arm outstretched, he was freaked out! |
She and her dogs need some training! Sounds to me like she and her dogs need to learn some etiquette! At the dog show this weekend I had a hold of my dogs so tightly, especially my poodle and I wouldn't even let him sniff! I think it is important to assume people don't want your dog near them unless they ask to approach or pet or ask if the dogs can meet and play. Maybe Responsible Pet Ownership 101 should be required to get a dog! It would make our lives a lot easier. |
This happened to me a few days ago, We were taking a walk and this guy who was jogging with his mut unleashed (don't know what kid of dog it was but it was BIG) It ran towards us from across the street and my neice freaked out. I grabbed Gus and stood in front of my neice who was in the stroller. The stupid owner of the dog was laughing. I was so mad. I called him a few choiced words and he just laughed again, got his dog and continued with his jog. |

Does pepper spray work on dogs??? Had I called the police, she definitely would have gotten a ticket, but the kicker is that I had MY dog with ME to therefore I would have gotten a ticket also. The difference though is that my 2.5lb dog was leashed and on my lap and her 100lb dogs were roaming free. |

What would you have gotten a ticket for? Not licensed? You weren't doing anything wrong! |
It is bad dog owners like that they cause us to loose the rights of our dogs allowed in the parks. Our town is passing a law forbidding ANY dogs in our local parks. It will be a sad situation in the future if this happens. What about the larger dogs? Where will they be able to go? I found this out from a friend of mine that has a larger dog that she runs with - on a lead. And the park has a new sign up the other day when she went for her run - the sign read - NO DOGS ALLOWED! Her dog loves to run with her. I felt so bad for them. T. |

I absolutely agree! Believe it or not, not everyone is a "dog person". (I know- it must be some sort of a genetic defect or something!!) One of the (many) reasons I wanted a yorkie was because I can't stand it when large dogs jump up on me. Not to mention that, considering yorkies are hypoallergenic (sp?), you could be allergic to dogs. What if they knocked you over?! Then to act like it's nothing when you tell her to get her dogs- amazing!! I can't believe someone would be so inconsiderate. |
This is why I carry pepper spray. It works and will not harm the dogs. S/W |

SHAME ON HER! |
that would definately had been a danger if i had been there with buckeye. and the problem would not have been totally their dogs. part of it would have been buckeye . he would have agitated the bigger dogs into a fight. but the difference is buckeye would have been leashed. |
Unfortunately this is how I think most pet owners are. I never expect anyone to clean up after their dog and I never expect a dog to be on a least at a public place. |

The other weekend on Canada Day I took Daisy to the park on her harness and there were at least 2 other dogs running around that would be jumping on people and running all over, there were a couple hundred people there and small children. I had to keep picking Daisy up and holding her as these dogs kept coming around. Finally one of the owners called her dog back and rolled her eyes at me for picking up my dog away from her's like I was the one with the problem. GRRRRRRRRR |
