Two scares in one day This morning right before leaving for work, my hand slipped and I dropped about 4 or 5 pills on the floor. Of course Chip dove for it and I dove for him. I couldn't tell if he got one or not, so we decided better to be safe than sorry and induced vomiting. Thankfully, we didn't see a pill. Then about 2 this afternoon, I took the two dogs outside to run. We've got some slats missing in our fence that the landlord was supposed to fix a year ago. I can get the dogs away from there before they run out, but this time Smokey ran out and Chip followed. Chip came back to me, so I grabbed him up, went out of the fence and ran to find Smokey, who was no where in sight at this point. I found him playing in someone's backyard. Well I went to grab him and he just kept running and Smokey is FAST. Thankfully he went up to play with this FRIENDLY dog and the dog's owner caught him for me. So now I have to figure out a way to block that area so that doesn't happen again. We got lucky this time! |
I'm glad he is ok:) these little guys are quick |
How scary!!!!! Would some large boulder-type rocks strategically placed do the trick till the landlord fixes the fence?? |
Oh My Gosh I Hear The Stricken Voice In You Im So Glad All Is Home Safe And Sound These Toots Never Cease To Amaze Me ... |
Harnesses and a leash work too |
Ashley -- it sounds like you had two VERY scary episodes today. I hope you have calmed down. I am always so afraid that medicine will slip from my hand. I am so glad that all turned out well and Chip didn't get any. The other scare is one which I am familar with-- I know the terror of one getting out and playing the game "Catch Me If You Can". My little door charger usually dash down to the barn after the barn kitties. |
Yikes - 2 heart-stopping events in one day! So glad your little ones are safe:) |
I was panicing! Of course my husband was sleeping when Smokey ran out of the fence. He was awake for the pill incident and he's always so calm in emergency situations. He just said "Okay, go get the peroxide" all calm like. I'm sitting there OMG WHAT DO WE DO?! lol |
My husband, because of severe pain, takes major painkillers. His hands often don't work too well and he will drop a pill. Of course Scooter is always right there but although he sniffs them, he just walks away and doesn't take them.:tongue4: What a good boy considering that if it's any kind of food he doesn't even smell it, he just wolfs it down. |
i am glad the boys are oki and back home safe with u |
Wow - they're keeping you on your toes! :warning: |
Boy, I hope you've got your feet up and your favorite beverage in your hand tonight! :beermug: :martini: :coffee2: Whaddaday!! |
Wow- you had quite the day!I'd try and block that hole off with something- rock, big planter, block-chicken wire- something! Keep calling landlord! glad all is well! |

What a day you had! I"m so glad it all worked out all right with both your babies safe. If you have a large outside trash can, maybe that would block the fence temporarily? |
