As luck would have it... Okay I got on and said I was thinking about getting a boy yorkie to play with my girl Lexie and our golden Jordan. Well my husband and I made the decision to go ahead and take the plunge but to do a good thorough search for a breeder and save up some money. Well, Friday evening I got a call from a friend who's aunt had just died from cancer. She'd gotten a male yorkie to keep her company during her ordeal with cancer. He was only with her 3 months before she passed on. Well her husband was in too much grief to take care of the little guy so he asked his family to find a home for him or otherwise he would have to take him to the shelter. Well immediately when she called I said "YES! We'll take him!" So now little Tucker is ours. He's five months with the cutest silver patch on his head. My husband says he looks like a grandpa! He's going to be a challenge to potty train because the husband didn't have a lot of knowledge on the subject and the wife was too exhausted. So at 5 months it will be a little difficult but not impossible. I'll get pictures up as soon as I get more batteries for my camera. Just wanted to tell you guys the story of my new little one. :D |
Congrats on your new baby! I bet he will keep you busy! I'm super jelous! |

Congrats:) he sounds so cute:) |
So glad you were there to take this little guy! My son got a Jack Russel when his wife's aunt died. That little guy went through 3 homes before they got him and it was a struggle to get him to know someone loved him and that he was "home." You are wonderful to accept this challenge and it seems that you have just the right home for him. Good luck, GG |
ohhhhhhhhh what a sweet story cant wait to see pics! |
Sounds like a win-win situation---he gets a loving home where he is wanted, and you get a Yorkie without a long drawn out search.:yay_jump: Joanne :aimeeyork :aimeeyork :aimeeyork :dog: |
Congratulations, that is awesome luck. Wanna pick some lottery numbers for me? |
Congrats!! Sorry about the owner though. I had Pixie at 13 months untrained and she has been a challenge to train, not their yet. Dixie was 6 months old but had kidney disease so it was hard to train her, Roxie is 18 weeks and doing well so hopefully you can get him trained pretty quickly. |
Thank you for all the replies. Tucker is definitely going to be a booger to potty train. If he starts to go potty I pick him up and put him on the pee pad, but the shock of me moving him keeps him from continuing his business. I haven't had a successful "potty on the pad" yet! |
things somehow always work out dont they it takes a bad thing to make a good one...congrats on the new baby cant wait to see pics |
Ahhh, what a good thing for you both! Poor little guy, he lost his first Mommy so little! I am sure he has gotten a wonderful new home with your family! |
Lucky you!!! |
