For Breeders who put the phone number on ads or anyone really.... Did you know that Google has this new thing where you can type in a phone number and it will show you the address for that phone number and even give you a nice little map to show you right where they live. Always use your cell number on any ads. This is scary................. |
Yup! I just put in my home number with area code (no spaces or dashes, just put all the numbers in as you dial them ie, 8695555555) and up came our name, address, and a map to show you how to get to our home! :( |
YIKES! That is scary! |
That is scary |
Lots of ways thats bad but it helps when searching for a puppymill or bad breeder |
sure it does and your post on YT comes up too. |
its been like that since google came out...its alil annoying |
You can remove your number from Google. They give directions. |
You really have to be cautious with the internet if you don't want there to be a possiblity of being tracked down. It's easy to take bits and pieces of info that people post online and find out more info about them. |
It's not a new feature on google or else where for that matter. Before google there were other sites that did the same thing. And before the entire internet...you could get a reverse phone directory...similar to a regular one...only it went by phone number and gave you the address. Btw, it only works if it's a listed landline phone. An unlisted number or cell phones will get you any search results. |
Scary!! Yeah, I googled my username and couldn't believe what came up:eek: I definately don't like being in cyberspace.:( Especially with all the Yorkienappers out there. |
Yep it is reverse lookup i have had to use it before |
I'm glad my phone # is unlisted...nothing comes up when I put it in so that's good! |
Mine used to be unlisted. I wish I had left it that way. lol |
