I may have a problem. I need some different views to help me out. I have a tiny girl up for sale. I let someone up in Canada post some ads for me. I was overwhelmed with the volume I got and neglected to ask one lady who said she was a breeder the right questions. This lady really wants my tiny girl but she wants to breed her. Here is what I wrote to her: I'm so sorry. I am new at this and I didn't ask the right questions up front. I really can't sell her for breeding. She is just too small. Even a with a tiny male she can still have throwbacks. I must regretfully decline to sell her to you. I am sorry. Sylvia Anyone want to give me any advice as to how I can handle any flack that might come back at me? I would appreciate it. Umm, Leeloo will be no bigger than 3.3 pounds. Sylvia |
I think that you covered it all very nicely. It is your responsibility to make the final decision on where your little one goes. There should not be any more discussion about it. If you do get some flack, I would either respond firmly one time or let it go. |
I agree with Yorkiemom55. You handled it perfectly. Anyone who is an ethical and serious Yorkie breeder will understand. You don't have to make any apologies. You've taken the high road. |
I don't see how anyone who is ethical would have a problem with that. You know we all support you for making the best decision for her. |
Maybe you could sell her a YT member who you know or have talked to for a while or spay her before you sell her that way you wont have to worry about anyone using her for breeding if she shouldnt be breeding...I bet she would sell here and then you could watch her grow up too :D |
You handled that beautifully. I think the spay before she goes is a great idea but it also adds to your cost. I think with all the people that are interested in her that you will find someone who just wants her as a pet to spoil. |
I know one breeder that had a pup fixed before it was sold to make sure it never could have pups. Maybe in this case that is what you should do. Not every one you talk to is going to tell you they want to breed this tiny baby.:( |
You handled it with more tact than I would have. No one should be asking to breed that tinybaby |

I would have her spayed also before going to any home. People can always not register their litters and still use her to breed. I think your email was very clear, nice, and to the point :) |

pup Thank her for her interest, but your puppy is for a pet due to not being what you feel is proper size for breeding...bye, thanks for emailing. |
I think that was a very nice way of telling her not sure i would have been so nice but i think you did great! |
