I had posted a thread earlier and in return I was told that my pup has mucus poops. Could this be why he is farting (sorry for the term) so much? They had said the mucus poop could be caused by an irritated stomach. HELP! Whats is wrong with my little guy!?!?!:confused:

He recently has been scooting on the carpet, but when he is farting he is laying on the couch. Could his anal glands finally be expressing themselves withouth him even moving?

The mucus could also be a sign of coccidia. Has he been to the vets and had his stool checked?

not yet. I am getting worried. I think we are going to get him in on Saturday.

OMG! I just looked it up! I am getting really freaked out. He is only 13 weeks old. Do you know anything about it?

well not THE best... but it's ok.. does it have corn or chicken in it??? it could be bothering his stomach... Layla CAN"T eat a kibble high in fish.. boy do we SMELL IT!!! can you try a duck or veal or lamb based food... merricks, Solid Gold.... Wellness.. usually you can ask for samples... i'm kinda with the mindset any food you can get at Petsmart probably shouldn't be eaten.. i'd try changing his food before you worry too much :) and remember when you change it he WILL have diarhea for a few days... it's his bodys way of cleaning out the bad stuff and getting ready for the good stuff :) anyways.. something to think about :) and there is always home cooking :) firms that poop right up!

how old is he??? how long has he been on this food and how long has he had the problem??? these things get at me.. i ALWAYS wnat to get to the bottom of it :) it's like a game (not to reduce your pups problems to a game) but i love trying to solve it and help :)

Stinky Butt (Farts) usually means that something in his food is not agreeing with his body. And I agree that Royal Cain isn't the greatest. I would go with Canidae All Life Stages, but you have change slowly, over a weeks time.

You really should bring him to the Vet for a check up. And bring a stool sample (as fresh as possible) :p

Yeah, I just looked at the ingredients and there is A LOT of chicken in it. Maybe we will try that first. The only other thing is that we had seen a small trace of blood in his poop a while back ago. It was only twice though. The coccidia that I looked up said something about that. I am getting really confused lol! Could that be the food too? Do you know any good dog recipes?

blood is not a large deal (sorry don't mean to minimize it) but it is VERY common with loose poop and diarrhea.. their intestines are upset and just bleed a bit... unless there is A LOT of blood.. i wouldn't sweat it... but if it makes you feel better get him checked for it.. but try and resist when the vet tries to give you meds for it.. they usually do.. but you gotta try this food thing first :)

good receipes as in homecooking??? oh do i EVER :) if you want to homecook PM me and i can send you my "started info" :) i would be MORE than happy to help!!!!! but the kibble i mentioned and someone else mentioned are good kibbles
