how could anyone?? I showed this lady I work with a cute pic of one of our Yorkie babies from the YT photo thread and i was like isnt that so cute and she said, Not really, Yorkies are not my thing, I think they are ugly:mad: I guess we all have our opinions but how can anyone say these babies are ugly:confused: To me they are the most beautiful dogs in the world |
I know some people who feel that way. There are some dog breeds that I personally don't find very adorable -- I would never call them UGLY (that's a very strong and harsh word) but I would say that they just aren't my preference or my style. And if I KNEW somoene that owned a breed that wasn't my choice, I would never in a million years insult their dog in front of them. I think that's just outright rude and class-less. My favorite toy breeds are the Yorkie, Maltese and Chihuahua. |
I know how you feel. I use to own pugs and I would say how cute and squeezable their little wrinklie face was and people told me the same thing. I had one lady tell me that if that she wouldnt have a pug even if it was given to her for free, thats how ugly she thought they were! To each is own! |

Its kinda funny you mentioned that... Over the weekend, I was watching a dog show on TV. I cant remember the breed, but there was a particular pup that I thought was just UGLY... Then the thought ran through my mind... that there's probably a lot of folks out there who think Yorkies are, well.... UGLY. Then, I laughed it off... To each his own :) |

It's fine to not particularly like the breed but that was down right rude of her. There are breeds I don't find all that cute but if someone shows me pictures of their baby or a friends baby I don't say eew or how ugly etc. Some people have no tact of manners if you ask me. |
Its really easy for insensitive people to be judgmental about anything they do not care for or something they consider not "pretty". I really don't like the way alot of others breeds look either. But I would never be so insensitive and harsh to tell an owner of the dog that or anyone else who has the same breed. |

Ugly isn't a nice word to use. Its fine that she doesn't like yorkies, but she could just say that instead of saying they're ugly. I used to think they were...not really ugly...but not really cute. Now, of course, I love them. |
I would say that your co worker isn't very open minded and they don't know how to enjoy life. Not like she had to take one home if she doesn't like it. Bet she would say the same to a person about a human baby. How rude. I would let it roll off your shoulders there are some really cruel people out there in the world these days and don't care about others feelings. |
A lot of my family thought yorkies and small dog in general were ugly and yappy dogs but even my brother in now falling in love with Lily. I think if anyone spends time with a yorkie and sees how sweet that are the can not help but fall in love. |
I totally agree there are plenty of breeds i do not find attractive but I would never tell someone their breed of dog is ugly! Oh well, her loss not mine;) |
I must apologize to everyone, I am guilty of calling a certain breed...UGLY, LOL. There are alot of not so cute breeds, however, mothers always think their babies are the cutest.. be it furbabies or skin kids. However , there is NOTHING ugly about yorkies, well maybe when they are wet from a bath!! LOL |
i agree with all of u..there are some breeds i am not interested in but doesnt mean i will sit there and comment on it...its ur preferance..and since when is a yorkie ugly...i think they are the most adorable breeds out there. i dont understand people werent they thought if they have noting nice to say they should say anything at all...gees..whatever dont let it get to u she obviously doesnt know what she is missing |
