Ok, First of all I am not in a situation of having to choose. I am just curious to see responses. I would say that both breeders had proper health screenings. Say the eight week olds breeder just had a couple of dogs in the house (yorkies only) and took all the correct step in raising her puppies. And played with the pupppies on a daily basis. And this is just when she and her vet has decided that the puppies will be ready for their new homes. On the kennel situation, lets say the breeder raised two types of dogs yorkies and maltese in a small kennel situation not a puppymill or byb. And these puppies were played with on a daily basis. And lets say she will hold the puppy you have chosen for you because you ask her to keep it unitl its 12 weeks old but she will let them go between 8-10 usually. With both breeders parents are on site and you are happy with all other aspects of the breeder. These are two totally made up situation. And please dont say you wounldnt choose either.I hope this makes since. Thanks | Honestly, I probably wouldn't go with either personally. BUT if I had to choose between the two (based on what you said above) I would choose the 8 week old raised underfoot over the 12 week old.
:animal-pa You said both breeders did all necessary health testing which is great
:animal-pa I prefer home-raised over kennel situation definitely
:animal-pa I prefer the breeder to only raise one breed - not two or more
:animal-pa Both breeders will actually let them go earlier than 12 weeks - but the one is only keeping it because you asked her to. I would honestly be wary of both breeders for letting the puppies go before 12 weeks. The YTCA states in their code of ethics that yorkie breeders should keep puppies a minimum of 12 weeks.
