Are There Any Good Toys for Yorkies Out There? :aimeeyork :aimeeyork My little guy has dozens of toys. I have rotated them. Some he has not seen in weeks. I have pretended to hide them. I have piled them in different ways in his toy box. Remi bores of them easily and I suppose I would to, given the selection out there. There are fuzzy toys, kong toys, squeaker toys, ropes and rubber tires. Has anyone found a good interactive toy that really interests a Yorkie intellect? Or do I have to face the fact that Remi needs me to play with the toy also? Your comments are much appreciated! :aimeeyork :aimeeyork |
My girls also have a toy box full of stuff, the only ones they like are cloth squeaker toys. I'd love to find the perfect Yorkie toy also!! Anyone??? |

The small size hide-a-squirrel by Kijen is the best toy for Yorkies, imo. They love ripping the fuzzy squirrels out of their little holes in the fuzzy tree trunk and sticking their noses in the holes or making the squirrels sqeak. Our baby loves it. Check out the reviews for it and pics of it on the Fun & Toys forum here. There's also a hide-a-bird in a birdhouse and a hide-a-bee in a bee hive by the same brand. Also the small size forever treat ball keeps our fur baby very busy as well. |
Thank you very much for the ideas. I will checking these suggestions out online and ordering new toys for you know who! |
Funny you should mention toys, I just had to throw joeys favorite one away, it use to be a bull with a tail, he has had it since he was a baby, it was so small i was afraid he would choke on it, so i took him to the trash and had to show him what i did, this is the 3rd time i have done this, I have to leave it there this time, he is pacing the floor and going crazy, Im praying meijers still have them:( its the only thing he likes. |
Hmmm the multipet sounds interesting, how chew resistant are they? Where did you get them? They have different toys but after a while they seem to get bored with them. Right now my girls are using the treat strawberry from planetdog. They can't chew through it and its guaranteed, so that if it does get worn they will replace it no charge. Oh and I forgot it always smells like mint. ~Marly |

Amber_lv makes Krakle Jax toys, my boys love them She just started a new sale too: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=112743 |
Jamie loves Amber's Krackle Jax as well but usually wants me to play with those with him. She also sells these awesome fleece balls and Jamie will play with his by himself for HOURS on end. AND it is the only thing he will fetch. |
The frog, the balls, the bone Sargie has a box of toys also and he picks through them sometimes to get what he wants. Some have been there for months and he just discovered them (the kongs, for example). He likes cloth squeaker toys, but his favorites seem to be balls (unfortunately, they have to be smaller, and they roll under things - then he barks until you retrieve them for him), an Orca bone he likes to chew, and this little squeaker cloth frog which was his first toy...the squeaker's gone, but it's smaller than most of his other cloth toys and he loves to run with it. As for the perfect Yorkie toy, he probably doesn't have one, but he does want me to chase him for these things. If I don't, he amuses himself with them...chewing. So I would suggest chewables if you are looking for a toy that will occupy the dog without your having to play too. There are several small-sized Orcas, and Target makes their own Boots and Barkley brand Orcas that I think are made by Orca...tiny-sized. |
My Chloe loves these little animal toys from Centinella. They make noises. Her favorite is a pink little octopus. She loves that thing! |
