Hi All-
First off, this is my first post but I've been reading all of your great info on here for weeks as I got ready to get my new pupster. Purl is a mix: yorkie mom/ chihauhau dad, but looks mostly yorkie. I was looking for a small dog and came upon her pic. I flew down to get her in Florida this week (thanks for all of the great flying tips!) I know many of you are protective of the yorkie breed, but since I am not into into showing etc, I just wanted a healthy dog, and it looks like I got what I hoped for! A real terrific little girl. Her sibs were so great too, but she won my heart. Funny: one sister was total chi look, one chi look/ yorkie coloring and then Purl, this yorkie look a like. They look so cute together! If anyone is interested in where I got her, feel free to pm me. It was a terrific experience, a wonderful woman who was so caring about where she was going and has obviously taken great care of all of her dogs.
I have a male corgi and a female cockapoo (who is 24 pounds and 3 1/2 feet tall standing on her back legs!) They are doing really well with her, but I'm of course supervising all the time and won't leave them unattended, because accidents can happen. Surprisingly, my girl Lacey is doing better with her than my boy Simon, but nothing terrible.
I'm so lucky, I get to take Purl to work with me! So I got a sleepypod mini since it fit on the plane, can turn into a bed and is a carrier. Purl loves it! She is only nine weeks old, which is young but she readily eats solid food (like a hoover vac, haha!) and very well adjusted. Our vet was thrilled with her health and general 'sturdiness'
The pic where she is laying down is inside the sleepypod. The one with the Blackberry is just because my out of town family couldn't wrap themselves around her size (my corgi is a very sturdy 48 pounds!! And extremely fit, just the most gigantic corgi you've ever seen!)
That's my introduction...
