sad news..but it's for the best Hi all, So last week I had purchased a yorkie puppy, Kylie, from a pet store near by. she was doing good the first couple days. got kennel cough even though she was vaccinated for it and was on med. she also had a collapsed traechea which caused problems with the coughing. she stopped eating the other night and we were told to give her baby food. she ate it on saturday day but didn't that night. also she didn't eat this morning. she would have coughing fits for up to an hour. we thought it was best to take her back to the store we got her. the guy was very sincere about the whole situation. we were given the credit back and she had started eating last i heard. i knew it would be hard for me to care for her working 8 hours everyday and it was really hard but i know it's for the best. I know in the future i'm going to be looking to get another yorkie, it'll just take time to "get over" her and i'll need to find a breeder with good health records and such. I want to make sure i'll have enough time and it'll be nice to raise her with my bf here too. he's out on an internship for 7 months. thanks, Kayla |
I am so sorry, but you made the best decision. |
i'm so sorry you had to give her back, bnut it sounds like you made the right decision. hopefully, someone who has more time on their hands will be able to take her and care for her as much as she needs |
I am so sorry....But you made the best decision for both Kylie and you....The right time and Yorkie will come... Joyce |
So sorry it didn't work out for you....but it's unfortunate she has to go back to the pet store....hopefully, they will do right by her and make her well before selling her to anyone else.... Good luck to you in your future search for a new furbaby! Maybe after researching and being on YT for awhile, you can build a relationship with one of the breeders here....they seem wonderful and dedicated to raising healthy, loving pets. |
I"m so sorry ,you made the right decision . |

It sounds like you made the right decision for yourself. When you do find that you have more time to devote to your yorkie, please try to go through a reputable breeder. You will save yourself a lot of heartache. You may spend more money upfront, but what you may end up saving in vet bills will be worth it. Sadly, pet store puppies are usually cleaned up puppy mill pups. YT is where you want to be when the time comes for you to get your yorkie. You will find wonderful breeders who honestly do care. HUGS! |
thanks all for the kind words. it means a lot to me |
You made the best decision for both Kylie and you.... |
I am sorry to hear that you are going through this. |
Even though it was hard, it was the right thing to do. One time I bought a pup from a pet store (my bad) and four days later the pup was dead. I had done everything I could but she went down so fast. She wasn't healthy to start with and I should have taken her back. I still think about her.... I wish I would have done what you did. |
What a heartbreak. I am so very sorry for you. In time your heart will heal and you will be ready to look for a good healthy Yorkie pup. good luck! |
