Puppy weight, is this odd? My sisters yorkie had a litter of pups. Mom is 6#, Dad is 4#. At an 11 week check up, 3 of the puppies weighed in at 2#'s. But one of the girls weighed in at 4#s. Isn't that alot? The Vet didn't seem to act like this was a problem. I'm thinking about taking her, because she is super sweet and I think she will difficult to place due to her current size. I'm already getting one other girl from the litter. But does this mean that she is destined to be a twelve pound pup? Not that its a problem, just wondering if anyone has any experience with a puppy starting out so large(in comparison to the others anyways). Thank you jessica |
It's hard to truly guess the weight a puppy will grow unless you know your lines really well have have dogs of a consistant size. If already 4lbs at 11 weeks, most likely she will grow to be over standard....probably 10lbs or so |
