Pictures with a shaved face? Not necessarily shaved completely; but does anyone have photos of a yorkie that has a normal long body coat, yet the face is actually groomed really short? (Not the top of the head or anything- that still kept long.) But, like, shaved from under the eyes down so you can actually see the snout; no long hair on it at all? Shorter than the scruffy-faced puppy cut that I see everywhere. I've seen one somewhere and it was absolutely adorable, it gave it so much more of a distinctive and cute look. Obviously I'm bias as my dog is a yorkie/chinese crested and it's normal for them to have shaved snouts- but I see so many yorkies with full faces and beards and wonder why more people don't keep it groomed short and think that if more people saw what it looked like, they wouldn't be hesitant to try something new. They look like little teddy bears that way.. or foxes.. Anyway just wondered if anybody had pictures of any yorkie (or your own), if it was groomed that way. Thanks! |
I like a yorkie in full coat or at least a longer puppy cut. I'm not fond of the shaved face on a yorkie...it makes their ears look really big...and I don't like shaving the bridge of a yorkie's nose either. |
4 Attachment(s) I used to keep maggie like this but after a few months, i really hated it because it never looked quite "right". here are a few pics. I have since decided to grow it all out and am MUCH happier with the longer face hair. but it seemed like it took forever to grow :D here are some pics of her with the short face...long hair on head and around neck and body. I'll post some pics of her during the "grow out" process....and then some now |

Wow, I absolutely adore the shaved face look on her. I don't think it makes her ears look big at all, because it's still left full all around her face. It frames it perfectly. She looks like a little doll! I love it! |
4 Attachment(s) and here are some now with it longer. I like this much MUCH better |

i would suggest you let it grow...then cut it kinda like what I have in her picture with her pink sweater on...still kinda short, but even. and not cut really close. that is the easiest to take care of and looks super cute!!! i promise you will regret it if you shave it all close!!!! and growing it back out is a HUGE pain!!!! |
I guess it just looks too messy to me, but that's just my opinion. I'm used to a very clean cut crested, with an elegant face. Fortunately that's very easy to do on a crestie though, lol. I'm not sure what you're referring to about me letting it grow out- the only yorkie I have is my yorkie/crested mix and she's had her face groomed short ever since two weeks after I got her, and that was over a year ago! It was cute but I didn't like that scruffy look. I do my own grooming for my other dogs too so it's easy for me. Just a personal preference! I was just making a comment that I wondered why more people didn't groom them that way, that's all. |

LOL, I doubt you'll find many people here who prefer a yorkie with a shaved face. We are all yorkie lovers so of course love the yorkie look and don't consider it a "messy" look. I suppose if we preferred the chinese crested look we'd be on a different forum.:p I'd love to see pictures of your mix.:) |
