Room Temperature for Yorkies? We have a programmable thermostat & I'm wondering how low I can turn it down when we are gone during the day when we are sleeping at night. When we are home, we keep it at 74 & gone at 70 (right now). Our little Charli is a year & a half old and weights 3 lbs. She has a sliding glass door in her room facing West that she lays in front during the afternoon & an enclosed bed she sleeps in at night. Has anyone asked their vet or know how low of a room temperature Yorkies can be safe and comfortable? Thanks |
We keep our thermastat at 70 and mine are fine they have never shaken because they were cold. I always have hoodies on them in the winter also though that way they dont get too cold when they have to go outside to go potty |
Mine stays at 66 or 67 and mine all do fine..the youngest is 3.9 lbs |
I keep it at 70 also. But, little Bailey always has a sock sweater or something else on, cuz she gets cold so easy. |
I try to keep it at 72, but my house is drafty, so I end up putting them in jammies or hoodies if I notice they seem cold. I also just make sure to have lots of fleece blankies around that way they can burrow and snuggle if they get chilly :) |
I think as long as you are comfortable, they are too. I keep my temperature at 67* and Britney wears nighties most nights and some days. :) |

mine no lower than 69 no higher than 74 in cold nights they also sleep with warm pjs. I always keep the eyes on them specially for little Melo Caramelo (Melody). |
We keep our thermostat between 66-68 degrees....My boys wear little shirts or sweaters and have no problems....And when they don;t they just curl up in a blanket if they get chilled.....We have no problems Joyce |
We try to keep it at 70 but with it at 70 the house stays about 71.6 |
