Swimming in the sea (a health issue) Hi recently I posted an article regarding Dennis & Lilly on the beach, a couple of weeks later Lilly was very ill! Has anyone suffered at the hands of a beach? They love to go so much but if anyone has experienced any major health issues I will have to think again about the implications to their health. :) |

My Kacee would drink it until she had four feet in the air! |
salt water will give dogs the "runs" (no i am not talking about the kind of hot laps around the house) this happens to all dogs, but like someone else sais allready, toy dogs are lower to the ground and can easily get water in their noses/mouths if a wave were to hit them......... other dangers include making them too cold...... you could watch the bacteria levels i suppose, not even people go into the water (except crazy surfers) when there is a red tide, bacteria levels can be dangerous if they are too high, and make sure you are not oon the beach by a sewage run off, that could turn out nasty as well........ i personally havent had this happen, but that is because dogs arent allowed on many beaches here....... i have had toby drink salt water when i was giving myself a pedicure (and let me tell ya......... the "nasty blasties" werent pretty) |
This worries me too - especially this time of year when we take our girls to the sea a lot!! Yes, they drink it, I tell them it's not good but it's like talking to a brick wall!! I especially worry as Gizzie has a sensitive stomach.. going on a trip soon and practically living on the beach so we will see how it goes....!! Ana xx  |
