Doggie day Care I've been thinking about enrolling my pup once or twice a weeks for 1/2 day for the socialization. Do you guys think this is a good or bad idea. I don't work so it's not nessacay for those reasons, I just want him to be well socialized. Opinions? |
yes, I think it's a great idea  |
yes :) :) |
a GREAT idea! I take my guys to work with me everyday but they have been to daycare and they LOVED IT!! It's a fabulous thing for your baby! |
I think is a FABULOUS idea!!!! |
Okay, so what should I be looking for/ abvoiding in a daycare? |
My boys have been to day camp at PetSmart and they love it. We also try to arrange to go when their park friends are there, so they feel a bit more comfortable. Look for if the place is clean, the employee's are attentive, and what size dogs are usually there. They should allow you to take a tour to check things out for yourself. |
I think it is a very good idea. |
Yes, that's a great idea. I enrolled Buddy for a couple of months, however, I stopped going when I was asked to get the Bordella shot (kennel couch) every six months. Seems it's a law in NY! My vet said one time a year is enough but the day care wanted 2x so I stopped going. It was not the money, it is inexpensive. I did not want to put more chemicals into his body if it was not necessay. It is great socialization for them. |
I think it's a good idea as long as you can find somewhere that you really trust. And, make sure that the big and small dogs are separated. |

Yes twice a year for day care in NY. I guess you could stay alittle bit but I doubt if you could stay for the length of time your pup would be there. I am sure your puppy will be safe and sound. I went to a Buddy's Day Camp in Westchester. It was a wonderful set up and I felt bad I stopped taking him. Perhaps he would not be aggressive with large dogs today had I not. When the vet said once a yr is enough that did it for me. But they have to do what they have to do to stay in business. |
thanks carol..i was thinking of doing that because martini loveees playing with other dogs and when she goes to her groomers she plays with her dogs and has a ball with them so it makes me think since i cant get another one rt now that i need her to play with other dogs im going to look into it thanks so much Quote:

My groomer required Bordetella once a year and my vet agrees. I wonder why New York requires twice a year....I'll have to check into that...hhhmmmmm Whereever you take your little one make sure they require shots to be up to date. Good luck. |
