I heard from a friend that she put a bow in her babies hair every morning and takes it out every night . Is that what everyone else does.I have just decided to start putting a bow in Frenchie's hair even though he is a male, but wanted to know what you girls do.

I love hearing all of your ideas. I read the discussions every day LOL

I take them out (that is if Bella hasn't done it already! :p ) I love bows on boys or girls!

I leave Roxy's in for the most part... I have seen dogs get cherry eye and different eye sores & problems because of hair in their eyes...
I keep them in, BUT, I take them out a few times a day to brush the hair... After I brush it, it goes back up. I usually loosen it a bit too so that its not pulling too hard, but just enough to keep all the hair up... she pulls them out within a few hours, or minutes, anyways. lol...
I swear I fix hair about 500 times a day... lol.

Take them out!!! Cut the grooming band with a little scissors, and brush every night!!! Pics?????;)

I take em out, ,most nights,, but do leave the latex bands in most of the time,, to keep hair out of their eyes,, and like some one already said,, i re-do hair a dozen times a day, ,times 2,, soon 3! lol,, so far Trixie's wont stay in ,, her hair is soooooooooooooo silky,, slides right out!!

Right now they are in most of the time because I have to keep the 2 of them seperated, otherwise they take them off for each other.

I have to keep Lady's topknot in all the time or she wouldn't be able to see! :D

I make sure it's loose, though, with the end of a rat tail comb.

I take the bow off at night.

I take them out at night and give them a nice head rub:) I no my head gets sore from a pony if i wear one all day;)

I leave it in until it comes out, Gracie rubs it out or Holly pulls it out, whichever. Gracie hates elastic bands so we usually use scrunchies rather than bows.

I take their hair down and brush it all out EVERY SINGLE NIGHT before bed. Not only does it keep the hair from getting matted, but I can't tell you how many small dogs come in for grooming that have red sore spots or scabs from where their owner has left their hair up for an extended period of time.

Every night when I take Ranger's bow out he rubs his head all over everything! It's actually pretty cute! I've heard of some who don't take them out get bald spots :eek:

Great thread! I was actually wondering the same thing myself. Cooper has had goopey eyes and the vet says he may have pink eye (which is funny because I am a kindergarten teacher and get pink eye constantly). She said it is was from the hair in his eyes. His hair is a little too short for a top knot, although I ALMOST got it up last night.

I may just keep it short up top, if it becomes a problem.

I was just gonna suggest using the ouchless rubberbands. You can get them from Walmart or Target. They are really tiny and way easier to get out than reg. rubberbands. I used them in my daughter's hair when she was a baby. She had really fine silky hair and they worked great. Now I use them for my puppy's top knot and they work really well too.
