? for "tiny" owners My Lillie Rose is just under 3lbs and she has been spayed. She seems to be wanting to sleep an aweful lot. She used to greet me at the door when I came home, but now she don't anymore! Makes me sad :( Not sure if she is ticked at me cause of the puppies or what. In the morning, she is all up and raring to go, but in the evening she just sleeps, even if Rocky and Baby is playing with the toys, she don't seem to care. She is not even 2yrs old, so I would think she should still be playful. I started giving her some soft food (eagle pack) in the evening when I get home from work, hoping it would bring up her energy level, but it don't seem to help. I'm worried and was wondering if she should be checked out.? |
Cali my 2 1/2 year old sleeps so much and always did. Even Pixie who just turned 2 sleeps alot. I think the tinier they are the moe rest they need as exercise wears them out quickly. |
I would get her checked out just to be sure...a sudden change in personality/habits would worry me too. |
... I think so too. Maya weighs 2.6 Pounds at 10 Months and she is PLAYFUL but she like to rest on her Sofas (not sleep) for when my daughter comes back from school ..... LOL |
I don't think it would hurt to have her checked out either. Just to be safe. |
I have started doing routine blood work on all of my dogs yearly just as a precaution to catch anything early. |
I agree I think the littler they are the more rest they need. I think I would have her checked out just because, .... Praying that all is well. |
Mine is a little one to0 (2 years old) and he is a notorious sleepy-head. I read somehwere that dogs sleep 12 hours a day. But if you are worried, have the vet check your pup out. Better to be safe. |
Pixie has a burst of energy first thing in the morning, then she will quieten down just before i go off to work as she knows this is the quiet time in the house. she will liven up again when i arrive home, sleep on and off some of the afternoon and then is lively & playful most of the evening till about 10pm when she starts getting ready for bed, it's all about routine with her. Its probably nothing to worry about but get her checked just in case:) |
Izzy just turned 1 year 12/29 and she is only 2-1/2 pounds. She is just not a big eater and runs around like crazy. She is active in the morning and then around 12-1pm (on days home from work) she will sleep. Then up and going again until 9pm where she just konks out. She does sleep more than a bigger doggie and that's also what the vet said. They are tiny and it doesn't take much to make them tired when they run around the house chasing cats or outside chasing squirrels. I've also found that the more daylight the more energic she is and once Winter set in with the time change she slows down when the sun goes down. Can't wait until Spring.:D She is supposed to eat a 1/2 cup of food a day and I'm lucky if she eats 1/4 cup per day so the vet also recommended giving her more healthy treats inbetween. |
London is 2.6 lbs, 1 yr 3 mos and she sleeps a lot! Sometimes she will just get a bunch of energy and go crazy, fight with her bro and sis but that girl can sleep! She can sleep as much as i can and that's a lot lol |
Missy.. I'm just now reading this thread.. did you take Lillie to the vet? I'm sure it's nothing big.. just her being frustrated over the puppies.. I would say bored.. but with a house full you can't be bored |
