just when I thought I had made up my mind... I have been thinking of getting some "Angel Eyes" for maggie because she tears up SO badly and her face hair is just nasty within a couple of hours of being washed. Then I did a YT search for Angel Eyes and read that it is an antibiotic. so now I am concerned about using it. any other suggestions? I really don't want to change her food...we are extremely happy with what we feed...and all of our dogs do really well on it. I have read that distilled water helps...does it really?? I also read about "leafy greens". has anyone found that this helps? Is there anything else?? I'm really wanting something that will work...I am tired of my baby having a "gunk face" all the time. |
hi pepe...my mom uses the angel eyes on her dog which is a maltese because they get the brown spots under their eyes and it works wonders but im not sure if its good on a yorkie...but i completely understand about the tearing and the smell martini has that problem also and i just bought a special soap called spa facial for puppies it smells good and im hoping it does the job but something tells me that it may lol...good luck with it if u find something that works please let me know also lol |
any thoughts????? anyone??? |
eye tearing I was told by my cats breeder to use only distilled water for him, so I always used it for my Yorkie, Bobo also. Then we moved and had city water so I thought we would just try that and Bobo developed very teary eyes and sticky hair under his eyes, we went back to the distilled water only for them and the eyes cleared up after only a short while. You may want to try that. Tammy |
I used Angel Eyes on my Bella (a white poodle mix) and I only used it a few times, and it helped! After it cleared up a little, I stopped and I've kept her with distilled water and we keep her hair around her eyes short. Here are 2 pics so you can see how much it helped. She was really bad when we first got her. Wow...so you used angel eyes for just a short time then distilled water? And there is no problem useing distilled water with these little dogs??? Is there any way it could become a problem??? |
I thought Angel Eyes was more for the staining problem, not to eliminate tears. We used mineral water for Joey and it cleared up the problem. Walmart has distilled water made for baby formula that has fluoride in it (I was worried about his teeth). It's in a gallon container for a little over $1.00. Eventually he outgrew the problem. |

She's a monster...but she's cute when she is sleeping...like all babies! With skin and fur!! lol |
hehe...surely not LOL |
I was on a maltese forum and asked this question and a breeder told me Tylan is better than angel eyes. Tylan is an antibiotic. I didnt know angel eyes was also |
i think i will try the distilled water for a while and see if that helps at all. |
I just switched mine to distilled because of Dixie's kidney failure and Pixie has a staianing problem so I am going to see if it helps her. Cali doesn't stain. |
Angels Eyes really is a GREAT product! BUT there are other options I'm going to go through my links of the products I'm thinking of ordering to try and I'll post the link! |
I LOVE everything from this company and this is the one I'm leaning towards trying just b/c everything else by them is fabu! EyePack Dual-Action Tearstain Pack If you do decide to go with Angels Eyes, this dual treatment with Eye Envy is supposed to be amazing. Angels Eyes & Eye Envy Pack |
