Peeing everywhere!
 

Layla is just over 2 years old, and she has been very consistent with her pee pad. Last week, out of nowhere, she peed in my roommate's bedroom, outside her bedroom door, in my bedroom, and she also pooped in my bedroom. Then she was fine on her pad again. Tonight she peed all over my bed! I mean, not just one spot on my bed, but it looked like she walked all over it and I've never seen that much pee from her before! I corrected her by putting her on my bed and holding her firmly and saying "NO"... she knew she did something wrong because she ran to the living room and hid under the couch. I put my sheets in the wash, took a break to have a bath, and then put my sheets back on my bed and let her back in my room. I was on my computer for about 5 minutes when I turned around and saw that she peed again all over my freshly washed sheets!!!! Again, not just in one spot. As soon as I turned around and said "NO" she scurried out and right under the couch again. My sheets are again in the wash.
What could be causing this sudden weird behavior? Her pad is right where it always is in the living room, it's new and clean, she actually pooped on it right after peeing all over my bed the first time. I don't understand what's going on :(

Has anything changed in the household recently (like routines, food, new people coming and going, is the roommate new?) It sounds like she is is trying to tell you something. My experience with my dog has been that when this happens, it has either been illness or I have been negligent in getting him out and taking a walk, exercising, or giving quality time. Now that is just my situation.
Females are capable of "marking" just like males (just happens much less frequently). I would venture a guess that she might feel threatened by something in the house or even outside...any new dogs next door, or roaming about? She might be trying to set her territory.

I don't think anything has changed, except that I've actually been home MORE than usual this week. We were just playing in the living room before I needed to make supper so I gave her a bully stick to keep her occupied, and she brought it into my room to chew on, but also peed all over the bed.
All I can really think of is we have new neighbors... we live in a duplex and the other side was empty for a few months and new people just moved in a few weeks ago. I don't know if that would really matter to her though, because there was someone else living there for a long time before that. I really can't think of any other changes that might have happened recently around here...

It sounds like a urinary tract infection. They will pee too much, too often and not in their "normal" place. She needs to go to the vet because it doesn't seem like she is doing it on purpose, especially if she is guilty afterwards. Hopefully it's not stones.

That started happening with Lacy last September. I couldn't believe it when she peed on my bed! She has had accidents occassionally but NEVER peed on my bed..and she was having way too many accidents. I definitely recommend taking her to the vet to chek for a UTI. You might also go ahead and have bloodwork done just to rule out more serious problems. I knew Lacy probably just had a UTI, but the bloodwork gave me piece of mind that she didn't have something more serious going on

You might have already read these. You don't need to read the entired threads but just my two original posts. I already got good advice but I still need to know what is going on. I understand if you don't have an answer because I'm not sure this case is that easy... I think if there was an answer I would have found it on google by now.:rolleyes:

Hmm I would defenately bring her to the vet. If everything is fine then she is defenately trying to tell you something.

Thanks everyone for the help. I didn't allow her to sleep with me last night, and when I got up this morning there was a fresh pee spot on her pad. Hopefully she keeps up with that today and I'll try to take her in to the vet tomorrow. Last month I took her in when I found blood in her stool and she got a shot and some pills for colitis. Could medications cause her to have a UTI like they can in humans?
