I took the kids thru the mcdonalds drive thru tonight and as i was paying at the first window i noticed a beautiful ****zu run right in front of the car in front of me at the next window. I beeped and screamed "hold on theres a dog right in front of your van" So i jump outta my car and calle dthe dog to me and she comes right to me. Well heres where my story gets aggravating :mad: . I told the girl at mcdonalds if anyone comes looking for her tell them i am taking her to the shelter. So i decide to first go up and down the block behind the mcdonalds to see if someone is looking for her. A lady tells me where the dog belongs and i go and knock on the door. It took the women 5 minutes to try and open the door so im thinking its an old lady. Nope the girl was in her 30s and was so freakin high and drunk that she couldnt even stand. I tell her the dog was almost run over and shes says" bad dog" and doesnt even say tank you!!!!!!!
So the nieghbor tells me thats how this couple is all the time and that they also have a 10 yr old kid. So now im really pissed, so i called non emergency to tell them my concern for the 10 yr old. Now this is where i get really hot they say"well mam its in thier home people can do what they want in their home" i was like excuse me what about the 10 yr old? they said did you see the 10 yr old so i come back with no but it sure the hell isint the way a 10 yr should grow up!!! and hung up !!!!!!! so theres my sorta good deed for the day but unfortunately it wasnt the happy ending i would have liked. I hope i see that dog again and this time im keeping it!!!!

LMAO......... this struck me as really funny because "tank you" sounds like something a drunk person would say.........
Im sorry youre good deed didnt work out, you can call social services and they will listen to your concerns and will most likely go out and assess the situation, if they find the child to be in danger they will remove him from the home..... calling the police was good, but they can rarely do anything about it because it is "in the home" unless the child is dead dieing or is being beaten there is not much they can do...... if you still feel strongly about this go to social services and see what they say

You did a very good deed. It is sad that this poor child has to be raised in a home where the parent's aren't worth a sh**. You should contact child protective services since in their condition, they are endangering a child. :thumbdown

You tried! I can't believe how horrible some people are though! You're right... I do feel bad for the poor dog, but jeez! a ten year old child??? If the neighbors know about it, maybe they will call protective services. I would probably call and file a complaint too!

Your good deed was a good deed! So, please realize you did the right thing. It is sad when we think we can make a difference in the life of a child and the laws don't allow us to succeed. I have to think in this way--the laws are written to protect most of us, but some people fly under the radar. I am so happy that even though your thoughtful caring rescue of the dog resulted in a bigger issue, we just have to thank goodness for small favors.
Bless you for your thoughtfulness. Doesn't it just seem silly when we jokingly say "No good deed goes unpunished" and that is how it seems to be in truth.

Thanks for that :) . I just couldnt believe the way she was though, I had a sudden urge to grab the dog and run with it (i didnt know she had a kid at that time) but i was afraid to cause she was def high on either acid or crack. I would have smelt the alcohol if she was just drunk, and didnt want to chance her getting violent. the dog was in such good shape you could tell it was groomed recently and the nails were clipped and there were no fleas and she was pretty pudgy. I told the nieghbor if you ever see that dog out wandering again take her and find her a good home please. Then asked her are they always like that and she says yes :eek: . thats when she told me there was a child living there. I couldnt beleive it why dont people step up to the plate and do something about it, i mean ugh that just iritates me. Im still so upset about the whole thing, that I know im not going to sleep tonight.

too bad you couldn't keep the dog and the 10 year old.. we have neighbors like that... have had the kids taken away 3 times already it breaks your heart, those poor kids.

That's probably why is was as McDonalds. It was looking for a handout. Good for you on rescuing it.
