Cotton & Silky is it possible? Max's hair has changed i can see the obvious silky shinny hair it is so pretty but then he also has cottony dull hair running through it and kind of under it....it really looks mixed is that possible? Or will one or the other fall out eventually? |
I don't know for sure I guess it could be possible to have both hair types. I really am not sure, maybe someone else who has more knowledge about this can help you. How old is your puppy it could be possible that one or the other will fall out as he gets older. I hope someone else will be able to help you better than me..... SORRY....... |

You sound almost as lost as me lol but thank you for taking the time to read my question :) hmmmmm could be possible huh that might be neat looking ;) i have read the sticky about hair but it confuses me  thanks again maybe someone will stop by who has had this type of hair on their baby :) Oh and he is 13 weeks old tomorrow and at 4 pounds he's a porker hehe |
I feel like Mckenzie's is a mix of both too!!! I'm very confused about what's going on there lol :) |

Maybe it is possible then  i am going to try to search some more and see what i can find :) |
My youngest is just like this as well at the moment. I'm hoping it is her puppy coat growing out. The reason I think this is that I have a slightly older boy, he's 16 months now. When he was about 8 to 12 months, he went through the same thing, horrible little fluffy knots near the roots of his silky coat as it grew in. Even though I brushed him every day they just came back, especially on the side he used to sleep on. But now his coat has become beautifully silky & the brush just glides through with barely a knot to be seen, apart from an occassional one behind his ears or his elbows. So I'm hoping that my little one is just going through the same transition. |
That is the puppy coat stage so you can't really predict what it will be fully when they are in their adult coat. Zoey has thin and silky on her head and her body is a bit cottony. Hopefully the silky wins out in the end but whatever she has is fine with me. |

I was wondering about it too. Maxi is almost 1 year old now and he has a nice silky coat by his face but the back and sides are different and underneath is a shine coat. Just because there is a shiny coat underneath I am assuming that it will eventually change. His coat is dark on his back but underneath is lighter and shiny. |

I laugh so much now because Hubby is such a manly dog type that he balked at Lulu's size when I got her. Then turned out to love her so much and now the new spitfire Zoey. We have been contemplating a move out to Long Island and I said if we do move then I will get at least one more yorkie and he can get what he wants. |
Oh i know what you mean hubby had always been a golden retriever, black lab, st. benard kind of guy but after one day with Max he now a yorkie man through and through :D and after some kids get older and move out i am sure we will have more |
