Space Heater
 
My two sleep in the laundry room, and I've noticed that room doesn't stay as warm as the main area of our house.

Looking for recommendations, from those of you who have had good success with a small space heater.

Some I see have thermostats, I'm not sure if that is a feature you would recommend it having.

You can also try the microwavable heating pads in their beds at night. This way you don't have to worry about them with some thing being plugged in overnight.

Thanks what I was thinking!!! That way you don't have to worry at all and you know they will be warm! :)

Last year I tried the little pink disk (PetSmart) but it got really HOT. I then adjusted not nuking it as long and that of course was the ticket.....I also bought one for me, and put it inside at the bottom of my bed. ;-) Nice and warm.

Pink disk worked OK, but it's the air in that room that has a chill to it. So, I thought the next best thing would be a small space heater.

In my sewing room we have always used those radiator heaters with the oil in them. they have thermostats.Once the oil gets warm, it stays that way. they are energy effective.

Thanks for posting that!!! I've been looking all over online and at local stores and i haven't found a deal as good as this. One of our local stores was charing $49 for one of these!! eek!

We use a space heater in our bedroom at night because it gets so cold at night. We went through three to find the right one. You want to get one that has an autmatic shut off when it reaches a certain temp, thats the key!

I also use the radiator style space heater with the oil in it. I feel they are safer than the others, and less likely to overheat. Good luck to you.

You can also check QVC they have them and i just saw a nice one on there the other day.any movement and it automatically turns off:)

We have space heaters in our childrens bedrooms. I worried quite a lot about having space heaters in there rooms. I found mine at target and costco. They are the free standing heaters with auto temp control and turns. It will also shut off if anything bumps into it.

Just saw a cute Holmes 1Touch 1500 Watt Ultra Quiet Mini-Tower Ceramic Heater.

Great price and it looks small but mighty. ;-)

You might try an EdenPure heater. I am seriously thinking of getting one. They seem so safe and energy efficient. Look them up on the web.

EdenPure looks nice but the two models I saw look to be pretty expensive ($297 & $397). Looks like these two models only come with a 1 year warranty.

Do you leave the electric fireplace on over night?

We acually use it as a source of heat in the palor to save on gas. It runs day and night. It also has a thermostat on it so it goes off when hot enough in room. Plus a heat setting on it. I love it.
