Nervous, Sleepless Mommy Hello everyone, I am new to the site and I am in need of some help. I have a 3 yr. old yorkie named Chloe who is expecting her first litter on the 16th of this month> She is normally about 5 lbs. and is now about 8 lbs.. We recently took her to the vet for a ultra sound and found out she is expecting 4 babies for sure, we also found out she has a Luxating Patella (slipping kneecap). I can tell she is in alot of pain, not being able to climb steps or even keep her footing while trying to walk. Is there anything I can give her for the pain that wont hurt the puppies? Any advise would be greatly appreciated I am new to this and Im going crazy hehe. Thank you for your time Crystal:confused: |

Welcome to YorkieTalk:) Is this acquired or congenital LP? I'm sorry. I have no idea what you can give her. Did you ask your vet? Yorkies with LP shouldn't be bred because they can pass it on. They should also be tested for other disease like liver shunt and their lines need to be clear of it. You can go to the breeders section of YT. They might have some answers for you.:) |
