Chewy is a year and a half, and we just got Sadie 3 weeks ago. She is 13 weeks. Chewy loves Sadie alot, but he is also jealous... Mostly of the attention we pay Sadie. We pay tons to Chewy and Always try to bring him in on any games or petting we are doing with Sadie. He is warming up well, he sleeps on the dog bed with her, on our lap with her, and he plays with her all the time. I notice he gets tired of the rough play some times... He doesn't always want us to pick him up and hug him, and sometimes he looks a bit sad...
I think it takes time for him to get used to his new sister. In general I think this was a good decission but I think it has changed him a tiny bit. He still snuggles up with who ever is on the couch and in our bed at night so I feel he still loves us very much, but I guess when you add a new member to the family things are bound to change to some degree.;) |
