Ginger Is getting spayed this coming Wednesday..so, prayers needed..I asked if I could pick her up that night, especially if there isn't anyone there..They said that between the 3 vets, they all go up there through the night to check on the pups and their stitches..I went and picked up my voucher for the spaying was thinking it was $45, but, it's $60 which includes the anesthesia..Her brother is also going in the same time to be neutered..Now, I asked about picking him up later that day, as they used to let the boys go home that evening, but, they keep them overnight now too..ginger is up to 4 1/2 lbs now, but, Teddy, her little brother isn't even 3 lbs yet.. |
I'll be praying for your babies. I got my two spayed and neutered at the same time. It worked out well because they were both healing at the same tiime. It was definitely harder to keep both dogs from jumping and keeping them calm. I was able to take mine home that night. Its to bad your vet wont do that also |

I got Ellie four hours after her spay AND liver biopsy (and could've picked her up 2 and 1/2 hours after). I stayed up all night with her but didn't have to. There is no way I'd be leaving them there if there is nobody in there the whole time. What if one is screaming in pain? What if something opens up? And with the girl they may leave the IV in. An IV in an dog unsupervised....no. Besides, the anesthesia hasn't worn all the way off by then. There is nobody there to watch. It would be fine if someone was there and awake the whole time. If they aren't supervised they might as well be home... That is your decision though. |
Ginger and Teddy are in my prayers:hands: :2hearts2: :2hearts2: |
Even though Teddy is her brother, my son and his fiance have him.. Well, I made sure I asked them about bringing her home, but, when I found out the 3 vets take turns all night going in to check on them, I felt better.. |
best wishes for a speedy and safe recovery...:p |
