I saved Moochie (whom I have named Mochi) and he's coming home tomorrow 2 Attachment(s) I know some of you were waiting to here what happened to Moochie the yorkie in the kill Shelter near houston I had posted about earlier... Well he is coming home with me tomorrow. I went an adopted him today. I don't like the name Moochie because it is the name his careless owner gave him and I like to name my dogs Japanese names, so I changed it to Mochi, which is a sweet Japanese rice candy, sweet like this guy. It was an hour drive to the Shelter (near Galveston) and when I got there it was totally over-run with pets and they are all on a SHORT list because they have too many animals so I am glad I got there in time. Here is the full story of this little guy: He is two years old. He was seized from a breeder who left him in a kennel at all times and didn't train or love him at all. He was filth ridden and all his hair on his back had to be shaved. He got scared when they brought him to the shelter and he bite on of the attendants (they had originally told me he bit his owner), but they admit it was their fault. Because of this though he had to be stuck in quarantine for 10 days with no to play with him. He'd never been fixed and had never been housebroken and had been left to sit in his own filth. He is a full sized yorkie , not tiny like they had told me, 9-10 pounds. When I met him he was as sweet as a doll. He ran up to me and rolled over on his back and let me rub his tummy and kept putting his little paws on my legs (well when he wasn't peeing on everything in the meeting room at the Shelter) He looks an utter mess, but it's nothing a good grooming and some love can't fix. I am sure this little guy would not have been long for the world because he looked so bad and he can't be adopted to homes with Kids. He had alreayd been there over two weeks. So I am so glad I got him. He is going to be neutered and get his shots and micro-chip tomorrow morning and I go to pick him up tomorrow night. Here are two pics of him I snapped, you can see how dirty he looks now, I can just imagine how bad it was when they found him, he likes to rollover on his back, because he is submissive and scared I am sure, so excuse the silly poses in the photos: |
congrats!!! :) |
