You have to have faith and confidence in your Dr. If you don't have it change drs. |

I don't know why you'd want to continue seeing that vet:( What's going to happen in an emergency, is his attitude going to get in the way of your baby getting the best care possible? And yes, it's HIM with the attitude problem, imho. I'd start looking around;) |
Thats very rude of the vet. Just because it is a vet office does not mean they are going to get complaints. And if they would sit down a second and think, in every buisness no matter what the customer is always right and thats ultimatly what it comes down to. I would go to a different vet. |
My vet doesn't charge a office visit for a shot...........I guess I am lucky, and he does come in and checks her ears and eyes and feels around her body but still only charges the shot, not a doctor's fee. I think your vet is rude and maybe you need to find a different vet because like someone else posted,. what is going to happen in case of an emergency?? I would be worried:confused: Also when he made the comment about his doctor gave him staph infection and he had to pay for treatment, If he had proof that his doctor did this he could've sued him:rolleyes: ...........I would've:rolleyes:  |
I have two very good vets, however, I tend to like my newest one for my older dog. She is on a pill for her heart and instead of doing an office visit every single time before refilling her meds, he put a 'refill as needed' on her chart. Most vets will want to charge you each time for a visit. She needs the pill so she doesn't have a seizure. The other vet would have charged each time. Neither would talk about putting her to sleep as she's got more life in her and is now more active and feeling better. I think sometimes doc's need a reminder about their bedside manners. |
It is normal to worry about your baby. Your vet was very unproffessional! I wouldnt go to him after that. My vet is great about it. Onces when I brought him for a lyme shots one part of it had to be done that day and another was had to be done few days later. He said you know dont worry when you come in for the second part of that shot I wont charge you for the visit and check up again eventhou you ll have it anyways. |

OK!!! where did you get this voucher!! LOL |
Change VETS! frankly will you trust someone you love with a person who may already have issues with you because you asked a question??? I feel if they thought (assistant and DR) you were inappropriate in your concerns they should have explained this to you. sounds childish for an assistant to put lies in your file because she was angry I use to go to a vet for my cats (a year)I really liked him.I reffered a few people there also. well when I got my Yorkie all changed first- he wanted to know where and who and much I got him from/for second-he hurt him giving him his shots(I overlooked that although he was as calm as a stuffed toy) he was dewormed and treated for cocidia deemed otherwise fine Next visit pre neuter check up well I had shaved him down at home ( he questioned that sayng thats their job)and he insists more hair needs to be taken off(off what! skin?) Fine....... well he cut him in that area and my boy screamed and is bleeding I almost fainted I took him from the assistant and cuddled him.I said no thank you I will be leaving. the assistant is trying to talk to me meanwhile not a sorry or a word he leaves her to clean him up while he looks at another patient (mind you when he came into the room he had a nasty scratch from another dog a big one that was fighting him)(didn't clean it up either)(FIRST BAD FEELING ) So now I am waiting to pay and leave and he comes out trying to talk to me.I say I am too upset please leave me alone I am paying and leaving. He say you know I could report your dog for attacking me I said WHAT!!! he says yes he bit me. I was out done.....and crying. then I see the assistant who witnessed everything and she says she didn't see anything. I could not get out of there fast enough. PLEASE do not go back it all starts with one thing you don't like and then escalates then you will look the fool to tell someone about the first time, and you went back...... |
I do not think you had an attitude you were just worried I understand. My baby was spayed 4 days ago and when she was at the vet I called like every 4 hours to check on her, when I picked her up finally the next day I was like sorry I am the annoying nervous mom and my vet was like we dont care that is why we are here, we love and think it is great that you care so much, but she also told me I need to treat my baby a little more like a dog I was like yeah but I know that will never really happen. If it happened like you said happened mabe I would find a new vet but they are hard to come by. |
I went to a different vet for ear cleaning and stuff.. And he wanted to do a preventative shot (that would have been their 4th).. I discussed with him how uncomfortable I was with that and how my usual vet only does 3.. He said he didn't care how my vet felt and wanted to do it.. I have to say that I haven't gone back despite the calls that I need to bring them in... My usual vet treats me like I'm one of them.. Not someone that they talk down to... Its alright to educated, but I don't like the ton some have... Soo.. with that vet, he rubbed me the wrong way and I haven't gone back.. oh yeah.. and I call my vet constantly! to the point where they know my voice when I call.. lol they don't mind and usually keep me on the phone to chat a bit... ;) |

One more thing on my old vet..Well, one of my good friends still use them, she got a new pom a year ago, she called the vets office and ask if they still took vouchers, the secretary said yes, but, he's(the vet) kind of funny about it since some lady came in with a $2500 dog and used one..I knew they were talking about me, and if that were me I would have said, well, that's my friend you're talking about, and you just lost another company...That lady had no right telling anyone that..:( |
I think that I would change vets--when you called up there about the bump--it should have been explained to you that that is a normal reaction for some small breed puppies and that it will go away in a few weeks(we will usually tell clients this as we are vaccinating!!) It was very, very, unprofessional of him to have said anything like that--also, the tech/assistant who was taking care of you should have explained, that with the history of the pet having a problem--that for it's safety, they needed to do the exam. Some of y'all's stories, OMG!!!! Then some clinics wonder why people go elsewhere???!?!? |
