Mika is eating her poop.......uch.......how does the sep stuff work, does it go in the food, you have to find the poop pile or what?????

I don't know what you mean sep stuff..if it's like forbid or deter, you sprinkle it on the food, you can also use meat tenderizer or some have said to feed them some pineapple, but, this is very common in all dogs..some outgrow it, some never do..:(

I did a search and read the "poop" post, and from what I read.. SEP of stop eating poop seemed to work the best over the other suggestions. SO my question is does it go in the food or do you like spray it on the poo or what is the deal.
Also while I am at it. Some of you talked about carrots and most agreed that they should be cooked and smusshed up and I TOLD my daughter what you all said, but she is still feeding Mika raw whole baby carrots. If that is not digesting as you guys said this might be one reason she's out there eating the stuff.

We do feed her what is supposed to be a high quality food-dry food
Natural Choice small bite puppy. Another thing they said in the poo post was feed high quality food.

I'm just so upset....I just spent 2,000.00 "baby proofing" the back yard, now I don't even want her out there.

My moms old vet told her years ago, that cooked carrots seemed to help them from eating poop, I've never tried that..but, here's a website with toxic foods on it(for our pets), and if you read down to carrots, it tells you what kind to feed them..carrots won't hurt them, but, unless they're small pieces, they can't digest them..sep should have directions on the package, if it's like deter and forbid, you sprinkle it on their foods..I've tried every kind out there, and i think they all work the same, or they did for me anyway.

I don't really agree with the high quality dog food and keeping them from eating poop..Mine have had high quality food, and still eat their poop, and I've had my big dogs on cheapo food, and they don't eat it..so, I don't believe that at all..I use nutro natural, they all seem to like it really well..sometimes my puppy still eats poop and sometimes she doesn't.

Years ago I had a german shepard that ate her poop as a pup and my vet said that she is missing something in her diet. He told me to mix some green beans and apples in her food. It worked. I don't know why but it did. Might be worth a try because there is nothing worse than a kiss from a poop eater!!!

Thanks everyone. Mika "mother" says she wants to try the crushed pineapple in her food. Question is, do you do this forever????

You know, 26 years ago when we had a cocker that ate poop, our vet told us to give a good vitamin daily. Well, this did work. Since then, I have used daily vitamins and have never had this problem. Just throwing this out there. :D

What kind of daily vitamins do you give?
