Isoflourine or...?? I've forgotten which anesthesia is the dangerous one! can someone refresh me, please? Lexy and Peanut are going for a dental cleaning next week and i want to be sure the vet uses the safest one. BTW, Hello everyone and Happy New Year! Elizabeth |
I believe isoflourine is the one you want to use. |
OH MY GOSH!!!! Hi Elizabeth, Lexy and Peanut :) I'm not sure which it is but I wanted to say hi!!!! |
Isoflourine or sevoflourine are good. There isn't one bad one but there are only a few good ones. Iso and sevo are gases so they either have to put a mask on your dog to get it to fall asleep (in order to intubate) or give an injection of another anesthesia before intubating. Some use propofol (one of the only acceptable barbiturates) which should be fine but others use different kinds. I would just make sure they are using iso or sevo as the main one unless you want to study it all out online. No euthasol and no barbiturates. |
