coloring... where does silver fall in? hey all. I've read a lot into the breaking of color and all that jazz but i'm still VERY confused Jaya went from a very dark black and tan, to black and silver! Her tan bits are very very light and she mostly has silver around her head and tops of legs. What does the silver mean? Does the silver grow into tan or what........ i'm totally confused. Like whats the difference between blue and black and gold and tan? She was supposed to be on the darker side, so i dont really know whats going on. The pic on my avatar is of Jaya at 4 months. She's 6 months now. It may take me a few days to get new pics of her on the comp but i'll try. |
If her head is silver she may turn gold or tan. Gold is darker than tan. They can keep changing up to 3 yrs old. You can actually see on Lillies coat how she went from black to black with silve and then silver (about 4 inches from the root) Her head was very very light tan when she was a pup she is 1 1/2 yrs old now and her head is turning a little darker tan...she is going to be on the lighter side but, I love her coloring. Sadie had the gold thumb prints over her eyes, gold muzzle and legs and black back. The only thing that changed on Sadie was her face and head. She is black and gold...she is done with her color change...she is 3 yrs old. |
that makes things a lot clearer! I was getting confused with the gold and tan, and seeing your avatar with the clear differences between the two makes sense now! Thanks so much :) I think Jaya will end up tan like your Lilly, very beautiful! :) |
I hope Riley's hair because more tan or lighter. When I first got him, he had black hair on his head and now its completely silver. His neck and down on his back its growing in silver too. Who knows, I may end up with a completely silver yorkie. Lol.:p |
