I'm very interested in the replies for this. My Otis is cotton coated. Winters in Indiana are very dry and he has started biting at his back down by his tail. His skin is kinda flakey and looks like dandruff there. I'm thinking about vitamin e but need to do some more research. Good luck to ya, I'm gonna keep my eye on this one. |
COWBOY Magic! works wonders on cottony coats |
Is cowboy magic only online? One of mine has a cotton coat and I've been using the pauldog spray on conditioner which is ok, but it isn't making a notable difference. She still has puppy hair so I don't know if anything will really make a difference. |

Most tack stores (stores that sell horse things) will have it. It is a staple for many horse people too. It works great on the coarse hair of the horse's tail. Soaks right in so it is not picking up all of the dust that a horse can kick up. I have used it on my Biewers/Yorkies too. It does seem to help. I was also given a Mason Pearson detangling brush. I use this after bathes and when brushing spray conditioners in the coats. I LOVE this brush. |
Did you get the Cowboy Magic shampoo and conditioner or the Cowboy Magic Detangler and Shine? Or both? I'm very interested, Koda has tons of knots I can't get out. |
I don't know about everyone else, but I use the detangler and shine. It feels greasie and gooey, but it does soak into the hair after a bit. |
Okay I'm back. I found the products by typing cowboy magic into google. Now I have the same question. Do you use the shampoo, conditioner and detangler? They also have another product some kind of brush in stuff. What do you suggest? The prices are cheaper than for what I am using now which makes me very happy!:p |

I thnk there is a thread on this also. In case anyone wants to check that out. Glad you found something. pooh' mum |
I also use Ice on Ice--it's great. Gracie's not really cottony but it always gets out the tangles and keeps static electricity away. |
