Cash im new to being a yorkie owner & i have posted in here a few times. but, OMGosh. i love yorkies !! Cash is sooo loving today he fell asleep on me like a baby and slept for 20minutes. :) it was sooo cute. everything about him is just adorable. Also i took him to the vet today for his 3month shots & i had them check his ears cause only one is up so far the other is half way up & the vet said that the breeder must have done his ears Early like 3days old and he has too much scar tissue for them to come up & they never will. But since it is already half way up wont it come up the rest ?? also he learned how to get on the couch & chair today :) it is soo cute:) he also learned how to get on the table by the chair & thats his fav. spot lol. i attached a picture of him. http://i2.tinypic.com/6jv7ot1.jpg |
:welcome4: Welcome to the forums. Koda sleep like a baby right on my lap when he first came home. I would try to transfer him into his crate, but nooo, he just kept waking up and crying for me to take him out and put him on my lap again. ;) How old is your little Cash? He sure is adorable. I don't have a clue about the ear problem, but I am sure someone else can help you with that. |

WHAT did the vet say the owner DID to his ears?? If you do a search on here on "taping ears" there are lots of thread that explain how to tape the ears to help them stand. It usually only takes a couple of days to a week at the most. Also shaving the hair off the upper portion of the ears will help to make sure the hair is not causing too much weight on the ears to stand. That in itself can help them to stand even without taping. I just don't have a clue what your vet would be talking about scar tissue. The ears are not cut to stand. |
Congrats on Cash, he is a CUTIE! |
he is 3 months old :) i had the top of his ears shaved. they are not clipped ??? |
I wouldn't worry about his ears too much, he is SUPER cute just like he is. Welcome to YT. I to am in Texas. What part are you in? |
Cash is adorable!! I left him some picture comments on his myspace! :) |

He is a cutie, and as long as you keep them shaved, they'll come up. |

Cash is adorable. At three months they are still teething so the ears may be down for a bit. There is no guarantee they will go up all the way, as my Bella's ears both go only half way up and then bend down at the top but they look adorable that way as I'm sure your Cash's do too. As I think someone else mentioned, you could shave the top to keep the hair from weighing them down and then follow the instructions to tape them. I did do this with my little Lilly and after a day or so they popped right up and have stayed up, although I think a lot had to do with timing and teething. They may have been just ready to pop up on their own. Best of luck Elaine |
Cash is adorable. You can try shaving his ears, and then taping them up again. |
oh my goodness -- I cannot BELIEVE your vet thought yorkie ears are cropped! Poster above is right, you really need to do some checking around before you make a permanent selection on your vet. That is not good. My family is blessed to have an awesome vet in our area that isn't a crook for bills. Good luck with your little cutie pie! And CASH is SUCH an awesome name! |
welcome .cash is so cute. |
Thank yall soo much. i will look for another vet. & have his ears checked. Im by the red river sherman/denison area about 50 miles north of dallas. Oh dont get me wrong i love him to death and he is sooo cute. & i dont care wether his ears are up or down. I was just wondering. Im going to take a picture of his ears close up for yall to see...cuz i think they have been cropped :( but i dont know for sure cuz they are not BIG they are little. I have his ears shaved at the top & will look into taping. Thank everyone sooo much for the compliments on him. & cody we got your comments !! & we left you some too ! :) :animal-pa |
