benji Hi I'm Nicky I got Benji 3 weeks ago, he's been ill treated, he's between 1 to 1 and a half,he is so sweet and cute, he just wants loads of cuddles and gets loads of love. Had to get his hair cut when i first got him. Not much he can eat, because funny tummy. Advice please, he never asks for the toilet, i just take him outy every 2 hours, and when i take him for walks, he keeps barking at everything, i tell him no or stop it, but it doesn't work, got any ideas. So glad to hear that Benji has a new loving home now! I'm sure that lots of love and a daily routine will help him settle into his new home |
You could try posting this in the training section. You might get more responses there. Ellie barks all the time and thinks that the house is a perfect place to potty so I"m no help. |
welcome to YT!!! :) |
do you have any pictures of your new furbaby? |
Welcome to you and Benji. Thank you very much for taking in your new baby and giving him a loving home. I would just keep what you are doing on taking him out. You will learn his signs soon and know when to take him out...and praise, praise, praise when he goes where he is supposed to. Just continue with the NO Bark. I bet he will catch on really soon. Good Luck |

Welcome to YT. Puppy classes might help you out. |
Thanks for being willing to take a rescue in. I have two Yorkie rescues that are now seniors. One is mentally challenged, afraid of much, scared of men, and has some health issues. The other one came to me skinny and humped up, refusing to eat kibble, hiding when she heard the word "come." Her humped back is now basically flat, and she will come after some thought. But after all these years she still does not like to be held. On rare occasions she will climb on my lap :), but mostly she will come and want a chest scratch. I accept that. Isn't it something how these tiny, darling doggies can be so damaged by ignorant, mean owners? :( Not too long ago I walked into a farm supply store looking for a brand of kibble. In the store I found two fenced pens of yapping puppies----maybe 20 in each---one for larger puppies. I asked the clerk if they sold any puppies, and she replied that they sell quickly. My next comment was that they don't know to what type of homes the puppies go to. The clerk said, "Well, for $500 the owner will most certainly take care of the puppy." I looked at her and told her that I have two abused rescue Yorkies at home and "you know how much Yorkies sell for." She was speechless. I left crying. It was horrific!:( Many blessings to you. Patience is the key. |
Hi Sounds like your yorkie was nearly the same, yes sometimes he comes. |
