This is haunting me so I have to say it to get it off my chest First let me say he's ok, thank god and nothing happened !!!!!!!!!! But yesterday morning, Rogan was on the end of my bed and he was digging and biting at his skin and I went to give him a little push to make him roll over (like on his side to lay down) and I didn't realise he was so close to the end of the bed and THANK GOD so much that my hubby was standing at the end of the bed!!! I almost killed my baby :( His head went between the foot board and bed and his body was going over the foot board. :( (our bed sits REAL high from the floor) I almost broke his neck :( My husband caught him in time. I'm just sick. Aghh its horrible! I'm choking up just writing this. It was just a little tap with my toe, and it almost killed him. I debated on even posting but I needed to get it off my chest - it keeps haunting me horribly and if my experience can prevent a simualr accident from happening then I thought it would be good to post. OMG what would I do if he wasn't standing there. I would never be able to forgive myself, ever. I HAVE to stop thinking about it! He's fine and it didn't happen and I'm thanking god!!!!!! |
Please don't beat yourself up over this, -it was an accident & accidents happen... everybodys fine so just give him some extra lovin, kisses & treats today!!! |
Oh, how scary for you! Please don't beat yourself up, you are a GREAT mum and you didn't do anything that you should blame yourself for, my friend. These little creatures are just vulnerable - and I can tell you I've had MORE than my share of "what if" scares. It just makes me shudder. Thankfully, my guys are okay - and your Rogan is okay - and it can serve as a gentle reminder to all of us just how vulnerable they really are. Thanks for sharing this and I hope you feel better knowing we've all been there too! :) |
Aww...you didn't mean to. Look at it this way, be glad it happened when hubby was standing there--what if he hadn't been and you'd done it later on when he wasn't. Things like this serve as a good reminder to us all that something can happen with these little ones quickly. |
Ohhh...I am so sorry that this happened to you!! We forget sometimes how small they are. We ALL know you would never intentionally hurt your baby. Stop beating yourself up!!!! |
Oh honey! It was an accident. I tapped my male cat once at the top of our stairs because he was chewing the carpet, I didn't realize he was so close to the top step and he flopped all the way down :( he was fine, he was mad at me for awhile but he was fine. We've since made up ;) I'm glad your dh was quick to catch him and I'm sure he's loving your apologetic attention he's getting from the mistake :) |
dont even worry about it !!! you didnt do it on purpose & hes fine forget it ! |

When I first got Lillie, I accidentally kicked her down the stairs! I was heading down and had something in my hands and she was right there at the top and I tapped her enough and she tumbled right down! I could have just died, I felt so horrible! But thank god she was ok! I really think we both had a angel watching over our babies! |
Aww iam so happy he is ok, dont blame yourself, we have all had our share of close calls, at least i have, mine usaully because there so quick, I shut my frige door on molly once by pure accident and she yelped, but i honestly never seen it comming, sending you a big HUG:hug:  |
You didn't mean for that to happen, it was just an accident. We forget sometime how light and fragile they really are. Thank goodness your husband was standing there. Just give extra hugs and kiss today!! |
Aww, don't be upset. We have all done totally innocent little things that, had it not been for Devine Inervention, Guardian Angels or just plain pure luck, things might have gone horribly wrong. ALL of us have, at some time or another and, chances are, never even realized it at the time. Just be thankful that all turned out well and give Rogan an extra treat. I'm all for the little guys getting extra treats:D . You're a perfect mommy and that's all we need to say about it:thumbup: . |
That must have been scary! But you certainly didn't plan to injure him, so don't take it out on yourself! I just had a similar experience. DH and I left early to do a few errands, and were gone about two hours. We came back to find Widdles choking and gagging, and I couldn't figure out why! I never leave choke-able treats out.....OMG..I look closer and he's got his collar backwards and the locking mechanism is in his mouth stuck way behind his teeth!! How on earth he got his collar in his mouth I have NO idea! I'm always super careful to make sure the collar is tight, but not too tight. I check it always because he's growing! Finally, with DH's help, I got the buckle that was stuck behind his teeth undone, and the collar off... All three dogs are now naked (no collars) and I will not put them on unless we are leaving the house. Scary!! Hugs to you and glad your furbaby is okay!! |

Hon you never meant him no harm and he knows his mamma loves him. God was watching out for him so it will be ok. Don't beat yourself up. |
Take the good out of the bad. IMO the Good Lord knew what was going to happen and placed your husband at the foot of the bed. Don't blame yourself, and be, oh, so thankful! Like has been said, there have been times when my actions have nearly resulted in injury to one of my doggies. Result: Lesson learned. |
Add me to the "don't beat yourself up" club. Stuff happens and we aren't in control of all that is going on in our world! I dropped a baby bottle on my son's head in the hospital right after I had him. Talk about feeling guilty! Now we joke about it (he's in his thirties.) Bottom line, you didn't mean to do it and while I don't blame you for feeling bad about it, there is no reason to feel guilty! We still love ya! |
