Lol You are all soooo sweet..this forum is so good because all...we are a chain, pull one link apart and it isn't useful. No one person can know all and keep up with everything going on in the Yorkie world..but Rini and I are so nosy we try!! LOL |
I have seen this site before- the one with the beautiful little male that was purchased from Brazil. I have not yet finished reading this entire thread (sorry time is short this morning) but aren't these puppies from Brazil? If they are, then aren't they Registered w/ FCI or FCA (something like that). If so, it is 65.00 to get their foreign registry then you have to pay to have it transferred to AKC. In speaking w/AKC, they said it is not too terribly difficult but in the end you pay around 100.00 just for registration. The dogs are very nice though. The well known Brazillian or South American breeders are supposed to have nice dogs- or at least that is judging by what I have seen on the net. It just seems so much easier to find and purchase one from the U.S.- just my opinion. |
Site There are many reputable breeders all over the world. You have to look at the type of Yorkie they produce. You buy a larger, soft coated Yorkie and it will not prouce what you want to show in many area's..they like small in Florida for the ring...very different type on the east coast. There is a Brazilian breeder about 5 miles from me...she has invited me over a few times..I have seen 9 Yorks..only ONE had a silk coat..she said they like the black heavy coat...she was selling the silk one. You can get a very nice Yorkie, you just have to be careful it is what you want to bring in to breed with your lines. You can not unring that bell as they say. |
Lbv The word in the Yorkie world regarding LBV Yorkies...they are the biggest high class puppy mill in SA. I have never been there, I do not know...I do know I trust the people who have dealt with them. |
Back to my original thought.... why would they be selling their show lines to just anyone that inquires??? There is a reason they arent keeping these dogs in their breeding program or finishing them. That's just logic. Breeders are so protective of their lines that none of it makes sense. I'm familiar with this site also. When you are buying from Brazil, how do you really even know what you are going to get? Are you going to fly to Brazil to see these dogs? In any case it would seem that once again you run the risk of buying over the internet. And I would think it would be especially important to touch and feel the dog if you were a breeder and adding this dog to your breeding program. Hmmmm..... Its just not adding up! |
On the advise of someone that I respect I will post only what I know. I have a dog that was sired by Lake Buena Vista Hot and Blue. He is their Int. Champion. He is my heart, he also is softcoated, drop eared and 9 lbs. I wouldn't take a gazillion dollars for him. I was lucky that his sire was here in the US showing when my breeder bred to him. Since that time I have heard nothing but VERY bad stories about the kennel and their business practices. I am not saying that their show dogs are not very nice, but I don't think you know what you are getting from there. My advise would be to err on the side of caution and listen to Pat.Personally I think if these dogs were breeding material they would be keeping them.JMO, Dawn |
I just read this whole thread and noticed something funny......after the group sounded like they knew what they were talking about, someone inparticular seems to have disappeared :animal-sm |
