Help..puppy has been getting sick:( I posted this on the sick board also...but wanted to see if I could get someone from this board to help also...here is what I posted: My puppy is 5 months old and the weirdest thing started happening. Last Monday he got sick 3 times, Tuesday once, Wednesday 2 times and Friday once. He acts completely normal and he eats and drinks like normal. He is teething and I know that some of his baby teeth are loose and are ready to come out. I have watched him eat and it looks like he chews a couple times and swallows(kibble)...and when he got sick most of those times the food was not digested. Could it be from not chewing up his food all the way? Sorry to be so graphic...but I just wanted to know if anyone else has seen this with their puppy...he is acting just like his wild and crazy self...doesn't seem tired or lethargic at all...it is just weird. I decided that if he did it again he will go to the vet...he goes in on the 17th to be fixed. What do you all think? Thank you for any help you can give me... Christa |
Well, Yorkies do 'throw up' sometimes for no reason. I say to keep a close eye on him, like you said, if he starts to act funny or getting really down in the dumps than bring him to the Vet. Otherwise, I'd say if he is acting normal - eating and drinking, going potty, playing and sleeping well, he's probably fine :D |
Tricksie ate odd objects and got a bacterial infection. This has worked for me for years, cook brown rice in low sodium chicken broth. If this doesn't work, take it to the Vet. |
I know that Sully (almost 7 m.o.) sometimes didn't chew his kibble at all when he was teething more and threw the undigested pieces up a few times. My vet didn't seem to think it was a big deal, so I wouldn't be too concerned unless it becomes quite regular. |
Maybe you should add some water to his food to soften it up a little bit. Also, ask your vet if you should change his diet. Good luck, I hope he gets better! |
I feed Shelby several small meals a day because she eats too fast AND everything put in front of her, then she vomits. Try giving smaller portions and see if that helps. Good luck |
I have one dog with a sensitive stomach and certain brands of kibble make her throw up ( its taken a lot of trial and error to find brands that she can eat without vomiting ) If you have started the pup on a new brand of kibble recently this may be the problem .. just a thought. Eileen |
Molly is a gobbler, If she eats to fast and swallows whole, she will throw it up whole, We dont even give her treats without smushing them because she choked once form not chewing:( same thing with water, she a gulper:rolleyes: and will spit up a alittle sometimes. |
I'd say just keep a close eye on him... They do vomit from time to time, for no reason. Or if he's like my Meka, he gets into and eats just about everything. If it worsens...I'd take him to the vet.. |
