15 wk old sleeping habits Hi everyone, my new baby Lola is great and sleeps through the night 11-7:30 and then is up all day unless I put her in the crate so she can have a rest. I feel a little guilty putting her in the crate when I'm home but it seems she needs the down time (and so do I) and if not in it is unable to let go of the idea of playing with me. She never whines or complains about the crate, really loves it. Does anyone else do this just to give them some rest while home? Also how long do folks leave their 16 wk olds crated while at work. There are 2 days that no one is at home. |
You'll get all sorts of answers about the crate. I am not into crate training. Mine were left in a spare room with a baby gate. They had food, water, beds, toys, pee pads etc... I work fulltime - so that's where they spent the day. After they turned about 1.5 yrs. they were allowed free run of down stairs when no one is home - Now they are 3 yrs and enjoy their freedom - laying in the sun on the couch - sleeping, playing or looking out the window. |
thanks Thanks Nicole, a play yard is coming in the mail soon so I think that will be the set up for mon. and tues. I'll leave the crate open within that. I just need to find the safest spot. Looking forward to the day when she will be able to have more freedom. |
Oh I LOVE the playyard - GREAT Invention! Ya know - puppy days are tough. Just be prepared to always take one step foward and then maybe 2 steps back - but once she grows up you'll stay on track! |
Welcome to YT!! |
Sometimes moms and babes both just need a time out. I will put Holly in her room when I need to get something done. The two girls playing and making noise is fun, but also distracting when I need to work. |
welcome to yt:) |
I've never had a puppy with that kind of energy..Mine is now 5 mos today, and although she has slept through since day one(in an xpen), she still sleeps a lot during the day..she has just graduated to sleeping in the family room at night with the other 3, ..good luck with your baby |
