Happy New Year!

My 2 1/2 year old female barks non-stop.
Just stands or sits looks right at you and barks.
We have tried everything, sounds, spraying, ignoring her, nothing works.
Now we place her in her cage. I have read that is not a good idea but it is the only way to make her stop.
Any suggestions!

Have you tried watching the Dog Whisperer on the National Geographical channel? He has good ideas about stopping this kind of behavior.

I'm currently working on my two who have issues with a running vaccum cleaner where they bark like crazy and try to eat the vaccum (Toby started this and got Shelby Rose to do it now too).

My husband and I just use Cesar's technique of the "hand bite" and saying shush and it really works!!

I love the Dog Whisperer too. But it seems like when Scout goes "off the hook", the shhhht sound and the hand bite don't work. The only thing we have found that works is a coke can with pennies in it. We shake it at him when he nuisance barks and he stops...hates the noise! Now all we have to do is go for the can and he stops. I have penny cans all over the house so they are nearby.

I am having this same problem. I have Sadie (3yrs old) who barks alot and Lillie (1 1/2 yr old) that doesn't bark at all. I have tried the Ceasar thing too. It has worked for most but hasn't for the barking. The pennies will work but scares the poop out of Lillie! Right now I am working on the feet biting...you know when you try to leave and they attack your feet? I do the shhhht! and make them sit and stay...this seems to be working.......for now! But with Yorkies you never know! They have a mind of their own...The little buggers!
If you find something that works for the barking...please share

we just stopped in KY the other day on our way back home..my sister has 5 dogs, she bought this little thing that has batteries in it(don't know what it's called, but can find out), when they start barking, it makes a noise and the dogs all shut up right away..they also have this spray bottle now, don't even think it has anything in it but air, and you spray that in their face(she has one of those too), and that also does the trick.
