Nasty, nasty, rude Man! GRRRRRRRRRR
 

I went to Menlo Park Mall, and I happen to pass a pet store. :eek: I decided to walk and and see all those pups. :cry: Luckily, there weren't any Yorkies, but there were quite a few s**tzus. :cry:

Well, there was a woman and man walking around with a Yorkie. He didn't look like a purebred, but if he was he was poorly bred. Anyway, I went to pet him (stupid, I should have asked), and he growled, showed teeth, and almost bit me! :eek: Poor thing! What a mean little dog. I wonder where he learned it from. :rolleyes: Then not one minute later, the sales woman tried to pet him, and he almost tried to bite her too. But that's not the worst of it! :eek:

The woman was then inquiring about a female Yorkie for a playmate, and wanted to know when they were getting Yorkies in stock. I walked out of the store, and so did the male owner of the Yorkie. I said to him:

"Do you know that they get these pups at puppymills?"

Do you know what that rude bastard said to me?...

"I'm not sure why you are talking to me." :eek: :eek: :eek:

Now, I am NOT the "speechless" kinda person, but I was SPEECHLESS! I couldn't believe he said that to me! I was trying to educate him about puppymills and trying to get him a better bred dog than he already has (he probably bought him there at the mall) and maybe save him some money and he was an arsehole! I was shocked!

I honestly can't remember what I said next. Something about...it's better to buy from the breeder themselves, when he nastily said:

"I know where these dogs come from."

So I started to walk away and he told me to have a nice day. Eff you!!!!!!!!! I was so shocked and even hurt! Why I was hurt, who knows...I'll never see him again, but I was hurt!

So much for informing about mills! :mad:

That is awful!! I can't believe he willingly knew about puppymills and still wanted to get one from there!!:eek:
And you are right, he was very rude!! I don't know what I would have said in that type of situation.
But kudos to you for trying to educate someone about buying from puppymills.You did the right thing even if the guy was a huge jerk. :thumbup:

I HATE that pet store. :( When I was 5 I went there for the first time and fell in LOVE with a cocker spaniel. I go there from time to time to play with the dogs, but lately I havent been able to beacuse it breaks my heart so much. Last time I was there, the woman asked me if I was interested in a puppy and I was just kinda like "No thanks. I'd rather not support puppy mills." The look on her face was priceless. :D

How can someone know where petstore puppies come from and be able to buy one? Ugh...horrible people supporting a horrible industry :thumbdown

I would be speechless too. You just don't expect people to behave that way. It is really just ridiculous. I am very sorry he was rude to you. As far as him supporting puppymills, maybe he does. I wouldn't be a bit suprised if the first dog he got, (the one who bit you) was from one...

He probably got his current Yorkie from there too, and was defending the place? :confused: I got Baby from a pet store too a few years ago, but I wouldn't defend the place I got her from! I'd tell people NOT to go there! :thumbdown

I have a story similar to yours. I was on vacations in Scottsdale, Az and decided to go to the mall. I found a dog shop and was very excited to shop for my new baby! I walked in there were puppies in small cages EVERYWHERE! 50 people in the store with children hitting the cages! I had a bad experience with puppy mills last year and lost my little one. within seconds I became very emotional. Then, I saw a yorkie 'On sale' and it just broke my heart! I asked to speak to the manager and questioned him on where the puppies came from. He looked at me, smiled and said 'Puppy mills, DUH!' My eyes started to tear up and then he informed me he was only 'kidding'! I ran out of the store. That's no joke to me!:mad:

i'm sitting here laughing because all i can think of is you handing someone paper towels when we were on the boat and telling her to clean up her dogs poop that she kept denying came out of her dog. hahahaha
