I just had the Scare of My life
 

If I were a cat, I think I just used at least 7 of my nine lives.....

Both Hubby and I have been sick the past 2 weeks with the stuff going around....We postponed our Christmas til January so we would not pass it onto anyone else....

Hubby had been feeling better so he went to his family Christmas that they are having tonight...I stayed home...Feeling a touch better but not enough to have to drive 2 hours each way....

So it is just me, Bennie, Barney and Georgia at home...I had left my meds out in the truck. So I slip on my slippers and grabbed my jacket and head to the door....As soon as I opened the door- Out ran Bennie....Who has never ever done anything like this in his life....He is the one that is scared of his own shadow and everyone else's....As soon as I saw Bennie go out the door- I dropped the keys and hollered at him....While I was calling him to come back....Out goes Georgia....I shut the door- Grabbed Georgia and headed off for Bennie.....We live in a new subdivision and they are building a house across the street....The brick layers were laying brick and apparently Bennie did not like that at all.....He headed straight for them....He ran straight into the street and a car was coming...They never saw him or me...And here I am...Screaming and waving....They were too busy looking at the construction going on.....They kept on going-never slowing down....They were not speeding but they were not being cautious either...Bennie continued across the street...The car went over Bennie and Bennie went on across the street...Some how, the tires never touched him.....I was screaming...and dropped to my knees....Georgia shaking hysterically....I just knew he was killed and there was nothing I could do....

He continued across the street and barking at the brick layers...The car kept on going and I am sitting in the front yard shaking and crying....

I think it finally dawned on Bennie what he was doing and where he was at...He looked around and saw me and came right back to me....He was sooo proud of himself telling the brick layers what for....Neighbor's daughter came outside and asked if I was ok.....She saw Bennie run across the street and knew something was up...Cuz they do not go out usually...I just told her I was fine and grabbed Bennie and Georgia and went inside....I can imagine what she will tell her parents....They recently just moved in and we have not had a chance to really visit or get to know each other yet...

So instead of a nice quiet peaceful evening....Everyone is locked up in their crates and I am in the office trying to stop shaking....Barney got an extra treat for staying put like they usually do....

So this has been my evening so far...

The car went OVER him?!!! OMGosh..... I would have been screaming and hysterical. I'm SO happy that he is OK!!

That is the scare of a lifetime. I'm so glad that he is ok, he really has an angel looking after him. I hope your night gets better and that you can relax now that it is over. I'm so sorry you had to go through that.:eek:

Oh my gosh! I can't even imagine how scary that must have been for you. I would still be sitting there like crazy person crying. Thank goodness he was OK.

Your baby had an angel and God watching over him! so glad everything turned out well, I'd be shaking, too! Your New Year has already been blessed!

Wow..I would have been scared to DEATH! I can't believe the car went over him...I am so glad he's okay! What a lucky little guy. Hug him tight

WOW - so glad Bennie is okay. If I was a drinker, I'd say this was the time for a stiff one!

OM Gosh!!!...... So glad that he made it!.... I can't even imagine how terrified and upset that you were...... Sit down, give those furbutts a hug, and have a nice fresh glass of your favorite drink. Then come up with a plan to keep the little goobers from escaping when you open the door.... maybe a gate somewhere between the door and your living area?..... you can get gates that have a swing door built into them so you don't have to step over them. (I would love to have one.... I step over mine)

So glad everything turned out the way it did!

God's angels really had their protective arms around him tonight. I am so glad. Maybe that scared that "bug" right out of you thought:D

thank goodness for small miracles. I had something like that happen to teddy once, only he ran across the street to bark at another dog! I'm so glad your little one is okay. The little buggers run so quick, and in just a second they are gone. It's really difficult. Give him a hug and tell him never to scare mommy like that again. I'm glad he's okay though.!

That must of been so scary! The other night, my husband went outside to put Mylo for a pee and was talking to someone outside and forgot to bring Mylo in with him. I was downstairs putting a load in the wash and asked my mother in law where my baby was and she said...Joking...that Cory must of left him outside. Well, I lost it and asked Cory where Mylo was and he SCREAMED and ran outside. I just about died. He was outside for atleast 10 min before I asked where he was. The poor baby was just shaking. It was so cold that night that if he was left outside for another 10 min we would of lost him. Now, I am the only one aloud to take him out. Cory just about cried. I asked what he was thinking and he said that ....He wasn't lol. I am just soooo glad that I asked and didn't just assume that he was sleeping with my daughter.

I am so glad everything turned out ok for us. I think I would of divorced my husband :D .

I was reading as fast as Bennie was running to find out what happened. I'm so glad Bennies Guardian Angel can fly as fast as he can run - you must have been a wreck! Thank goodness everyone is ok. It's amazing how fast they can dart out of an open door and be gone (yes, this is the voice of experience speaking).

That was a true Christmas miracle. I'm so glad he came through untouched. :)

I too, had the scare of my life when boobah bit through an electrical cord and got electrocuted. All I heard upstairs was her screaming. I ran downstairs and pulled her away from the cord. I took her to the vet and Dr. said she was lucky to be alive!...Whenever we are indoors or outdoors, open a door, walk inside the house, we have to keep an "eagle eye on these little ones", take it from me. This experience changed my whole situation with my little ones. I am so happy your baby was ok, an angel was with your baby while crossing the road. I do believe that.:animal-paBoobah and Gina send their love to your little one!

I know I'm a little emotional tonight but your story brought tears to my eyes! So glad that your baby is ok! Hold them close tonight and give them lots of kisses and be sure to count your blessings....
