I Don't Want to Go on Vacation!!!!!!
 
I know this probably sounds absurd, but I am leaving to go to Hilton Head, SC for three days and then to a mountain cabin in Georgia for another four with my boyfriend and I can hardly bear to leave. The stupid place in HH doesn't allow pets and he had already booked it and paid for it before we knew. I leave tomorrow and will get back hopefully by the following Friday but I'm gonna miss my baby so much!!!!!! My son will be staying with him so I know he'll be fine - but...

AND I WON"T BE ABLE TO GET TO YORKIETALK - AAAGGGHHH!!!!!

I'll miss you guys!!!!

I know it's hard. I had to go camping one weekend and Asia could not go. So she spent the whole week with her grand parents. At least you have someone you trust to look after your baby and remember sometimes it's good for the parents to get away. It makes the homecoming so much sweeter.

I am going thro the same thing and we are going to Hawaii! I know I should be excited but I am going to miss Pita soooo much!!

I just got back from Florida, and I went through the same thing. My mother-in-law kept Pippa, I left a list of instructions a mile long. Mom-in- law said I didn't leave a list this long when my kids stayed with her when they were little..hehe. I was so afraid Pippa would go on a hunger strike, so I left nutrical and her favorite food. I called everyday-she did go on a hunger strike the first 36 hours, then seemed to be resigned to her fate...."my family left me :-(". HOWEVER, we called my mom-in law from the airport to meet us at home with our baby girl, and what a reunion!! Pippa didn't know who to run to and lick first!! She did fine, and we did end up having a good time despite my constant worry!

I know it sounds insane but that's why I didn't plan a family vacation this year. I felt like Bo was too young to board. Next year he'll be thouroughly potty trained and I can leave him with my mom.

This is exactly why I posted a question about vacations that can include pets. I haven't planned a vacation yet and when we do go I just have to take the baby.

Does anyone know if any large hotel chains do allow pets?

Dana,

I know you'll miss your baby. I am sure your baby will be in great company with your son. You'll have fun even though you'll miss him. You'll have to let me know how you cope. I will be leaving myself in two weeks to go to Lake Tahoe. I am looking forward to the trip, but already am beginning to worry myself about General Patton. And I know we'll miss YT too.

It's so nice to know everyone here can understand how you can actually dread going to these wonderful places. Other people would probably think we were crazy... Thanks for the support ya'll and I hope you all enjoy yours too. I'll be back on as soon as I can. Shelbysmom, try petswelcome.com - they have lots of listings for pet friendly places etc.

I feel your pain! I had to leave Rocky for a week in June! It was horrilble! I am going away again next week, to Vegas, and Rocky is coming with me!

There are so many. But a major one that comes to mind, and is NICE is Sheraton. Just Sheraton. A lot of their branches may have fees, like the W. But Sheraton doesn't. That's the one of the hotels my hubby & I can agree on. I don't mind staying at Motel 6 as long as I have my babies with me. He on the other hand, not so much.

I have had to leave Tucker twice this summer and will have to again in august and it is the pits. I worry about him constantly. Thankfully my mom keeps him and treats him like a KING when I am away. She actually spoils him!

I feel exactly the same way. :( We've had a trip booked to go to Dominican :ip: in November with a bunch of friends since before I borught Deegan home. And now I am regretting that we booked it. I dont want to go anymore - I can't bear to leave my baby alone. Well, he won't be alone, he'll be at my parents house, but still...
But I have to go because the trip is paid for and my boyrfriend won't be happy if we lose out on our money.

I know that once I am there we will have a blast, but I hate the thought of being away from my furbaby that long. Even a day at work is long enough to be away from him!

The Extended Stays aren't luxury hotels but they take pets and the rooms are usually big.

Also if you do a hotels.com search they have a spot to filter what you want in a room and you can search for pet friendly places.
