Anyone use 1800petmeds.com? I was on their site and I can get heartworm medicine so much cheaper through them than through my vet. I got a prescription yesterday from the vet but before I try them I was wondering if anyone uses them and if they like them? Thanks! |
I have ...My vet tried to talk me out of it saying the meds are not as fresh as what the Vet gets - they can be left on trucks at the wrong temps etc...We got the heartworm meds anyway to try once - but I went back to the vet to get it after trying them - They they had some specials so I also got Shampoo for Tessa my cocker - She does NOT need CC Systems ! Poor baby - she gets the leftovers !! lol...not really - |
I placed an order online once, but a couple of days later they called me needing my pets id number or something for the vet? I was busy at the time, and did not have time to find what they wanted, so I cancelled the order. Not any help, sorry. I think it is a good idea - there is a thread to watch out for fake meds in the past couple of days. |

My daughter works at a vet, and she says that if you don't get the meds from your vet and your dog develops heartworms they won't honor the guarantee to pay for treatment if your dog develops heartworms. |
I haven't use them but might order my heartworm from them next time. Its way too high from the vet. Flea and tick meds also. |
I use them all the time. Their prices are awesome. You can check the expiration date on the meds too so don't worry! :p |
I think Maximus heartworm pill was only like $30.00 does that sound right?? (Interceptor)-for a year |
My mom, gramma, dad and myself all use them. I think the prices are great and none of us have ever had a problem. The only thing to look for is when you get the product double check the expiration date just to be sure. I have had terrific luck with 1-800-Petmeds.  |
I just went and looked and I don't think there prieces are that great...I think my vet may even be cheaper!!! |
Yes I use petmeds & petRx.com sometimes petmeds wont have tilly's med(dopamine) which my vet charges 96.00, between petmeds 65.00 & 58.00 at petRx. 4 years I have been alternating between the both of them and I have noticed petmeds are increasing in prices. because of its popularity! petRx is far more reasonable and always have tillys type of meds available as well as advantage & frontline. Try petRx.com and compare prices  |
Laura, I am curious... With all the steps afterwards, wasn't that a little more time intensive than calling or emailing and giving correct information which takes 10 seconds? Trever |
That is incorrect. 1-800-PetMeds guarantees 100% Not surprising that comes from a vet-related source. Have your daughter check: 1800PetMeds.com - Product Guarantee Trever |
My Vet... My vet matches the price of meds on 1800petmeds. Their prices are almost the same (before the discount) but my vet told me the same thing that some of you have heard, the quality may not be the same. My theory thus far as been that as long as my vet matches 1800petmeds prices, why should I waste time getting it from them. I can walk into my vet and pay that price and don't have to worry about shipping. Maybe ask your vet if they will match or beat the price....you may get a better deal and you can trust the quality. Good Luck! |
