Yorky Haircuts Ricky is my very first Yorkie and we are wondering about letting his hair grow. His first haircut was a modified Schnauzer cut but I really like the looks of the long hair. Is this commonly done with males? I don't necessarily want a bow on his top knot but I want the top knot. I realize the long hair can be time consuming to take care of, but we want to give it a try. Thanks in advance for your help! Ricky and his mom :aimeeyork |
I know a lot of people let the yorkies hair grow long, but they need to keep it well groomed everyday. I have always kept my yorkies hair relatively short so that it doesn't tangle and mat, It's really up to you. I can't wait to see pics of Ricky.. And again Welcome to YT!!:D |
Rickys in bed right now with his daddy but I can't wait to post some pics of him! Are there any free photo hosting sites available? Or can you recommend a good one? Thanks! Ricky and his mom :aimeeyork |
I love full coats on yorkies. Lacy's hair grows SO slow, but I just let it grow..hopefully one day her hair will be long. Any yorkies I get from now on will be in full coat. |
I keep my boys' hair trimmed and neat, but not too short. They are really rough and tumble little guys, so long hair is just too messy. But a well groomed yorkie with long, flowing hair is a thing of beauty! |
www.photobucket.com is a good hosting site, but here, you need to adjust the image size and upload it to YT. My boy has long hair and a top knot. I only put bows in his hair for special occasions. Welcome to YT! |
It depends on how much time you have to devote to keeping his hair looking good. You don't have to put a bow in his hair. Maybe just use a little latex rubber band. |
My first attempt at posting a pic! 1 Attachment(s) Here goes! This is my little Halloween Pirate... Ricky and his mom :aimeeyork |
