Another "what kind of coat is he" he question 4 Attachment(s) I dunno... Its cottony on his body, but on his head its turning charcoal grey and is silky. I am ready to get his hair scissor cut in some kind of orderly fashion. I know it is still puppy hair, but it is really a ball of fuzzy confusion. I am also anxious as to what hair he will eventually grow into. I can tell he will be blue/steel b/c when I part his back I can see the blueish gray color at the base of his skin. Oh and his eyes reflect the colors brown and green. Here are some picsl |
He looks like he's got a thick cottony coat to me. My parent's yorkie has a cotton coat. His hair is thick and soft. |
Ohhhh I just love this coat.. He looks so fluffy.. Do you know what type of coat his parents had? My baby will a silky as both of his parents were. I just hope it won't be a thin silky coat as I love the look of a full coat.. Your baby looks like a cottony coat to me.. I love it!..:p |
I agree it looks cottony, but it's hard to tell until they get there first haircut. |
2 Attachment(s) Hannah had a coat like that when she was a puppy and now she has a silky coat. After all the puppy coat grew out I cut if off and then their was silky hair under it. Yours might be silky, but it kinda looks cottony too....whatever it is he is really cute. 1. Hannah 12 weeks old 2. Hannah now at 15 months old |
One parent had a thick coat, the other had a silky coat, so my Bailey may just end being somewhere in between. Is it too soon to get his hair "trimmed?" I do not want it shaved all the way off yet. If anyone has any pictures that I can take to the groomer for examples, it would be greatly appreciated. |
Oh. it looks soooooo soft! It looks thick and cottony...and if you go by the color the eyes are glowing, I'd say it would definitely be more on the cottony side. |

so are cottony coats acceptable or harder to manage? I currently do not have hard time with mats or tangles, but is one coat more preferable than the other... Even so, he is sweet as a button and very alert and cute and dare I say I love him! |
Silky hair does not mat as easily as cottony coats. But unless you are into showing, I'm not sure that it matters. |
