After shots ??'s Rudy got his 2nd set of shots today. the first set no problems this set he seems a bit more touchy at sites and scratching a bit at one site.. is this normal? I am just a bit nervous with a little puppy.. thanks:confused: |
My vet for the little ones, will only give half a needle at a time, he has me bring them back for the other part in two weeks. My vet thinks the little guys cannot handle a whole shot at once with such a small weight. When it comes to needing a parvo shot and rabies, he will not give both at the same time then neither, I pay for the works then I go back and it does not cost me for the other part. Some times they do get a little sore, sleep a lot, if you think the puppy is having an alergic reaction, you need to call your vet. If I even wonder I call the vet, I take no chances. pooh's mum |
I don't know how "normal" it is since I only have Slade to base it on, and god knows he is anything but normal! But Slade was more touchy w/ set 3 than he was set 2. He was really tired and cranky after the 3rd set. He was still with his rescue for set 1, so i don't know how he reacted to those. |
I'm not sure if it's necessarily odd, because even babies can get sore out injection sites. |
its normal for some to get sore at the injection site. Mine could care less but others here have had pups that got sore and touchy and lethargic after vaccines. |
Magic had a reaction with one of her shots....she developed a small knot where the injection went in and was sore in that area.....but that went away with time and the vet said that it happens sometimes. Hopefully Rudy is doing better today! |
