Are your Yorkies Laundry bandits?? I reallllyyyy hope Sammi is not the only one who does this.... When I get home from work I always change my clothes, I usually put them on the bed then change then the dirty clothes go in the hamper...Well in the 5 mins it takes me to change Sammi is on my dirty clothes like white on rice...She goes right for the shirt and licks the deodarant (YUCK!!! GROSS) then runs inside like she just hit to lottery with the shirt in her mouth!! Do any other Yorkie owners have Laundry Bandits??? |

Memphis may not be a yorkie but he is an underwear bandit. I quit buying victoria secret underwear cause he keeps chewing the crotches outta them. Funny thing is though is he likes the clean ones not the dirty ones. |
Yep, we are constantly finding socks, underwear, t-shirts, etc. throughout the house. It's funny to see her dragging something heavy, like a t-shirt, and trying to be sly about it. :rolleyes: |
YUCK! My laundry basket is in my closet and I keep the door closed. I started closing the door because the dirty laundry was Gracie's favorite place to hide her chewies! |
I don't mean to brag, but it is a rare occassion when mine takes something other than what is in the toy basket. This includes Tiah and Kopper (my first Yorkie). They will do what I call the "catfish routine" (search the floor with their nose 1 milimeter away from it), but that's about it. Brittani has accidntly left a bag of candy on the floor and Tiah wouldn't touch it. My Mom's Yorkies actually take things off of the coffee table (checks included!). Tiah has full access to the laundry room and has never brought anything out. :thumbup: :) |

Reminds me of when I was in college my room mate had the cutest little terrier-mix dog (Dammit was his name) that was such an avid undie snatcher that we used to have to keep the unclean ones in a laundry basket on top of the fridge. More than once we had dates visit us unexpectedly and embarrass us to death!!! Have you ever tried explaining dirty unders on top of a fridge?? :embarasse LOL Almost as bad as when he would parade into a room full of our friends with a pair in his mouth!! Nope your dog is not the only one lol. Cookie loves my dirty panties! I make sure now that I put my dirty clothes immediately in the hamper before taking a shower. He has run away several times with my panties in his mouth and just chomping away at the groin spot of the underwear! ugh!!!! I've been sitting on the toilett doing pee pee and sure enough here comes Cookie playing tug of war trying to pull them off! Genie |
Oh I can relate..Bear is exactly the same way..You cannot leave ANY kind of clothing laying around..especially underwear..he will be gone with it! But that's his favorite game to play..He snatches and we chase..he'll just lay there with whatever he's not supposed to have till we get close to him..then he'll take off! Most of the time it takes two of us to corner and catch him! It's soooo funny! |
Yea Coco is an panty snatcher. She will just grab it whether it's fresh out of the laundry or about to be put in the basket. She also snaps it while I am peeing, because she's trying to get them off. But as soon as I say "DROP IT" she just opens her mouth and everything falls out...haha |

I don't have a problem with the undies thief because I always fold the cloths on the dinette table so she can't get to them. she has stolen a dish scrubbie once. I opened the cabinet door under the sink to get something out. I only had it open a second. When I turned arround she had the scrubbie. I didn't even see her sneak into the cabinet. I have since put baby locks on the cabinet doors because I found out she can open them. |

Mac and Mellie are definately into the underware thing. Clean or dirty. They love to play tug of war with them. And of course it's always has to happen when someone unexpected comes to the door. |
Sydney's facination with laundry seems to be related to the laundry basket itself. She only messes with clothing in the laundry basket (clean or dirty). Something about climbing into the basket and pawing through all of those clothes must be fun for her. But when laundry is done and there is a drying rack full of undies in my bathroom well within her reach...she doesn't bat an eye at it. Socks however are a thing of their own and those are fun to chew on even if they still have feet in them. :eek: |
