Did you see a difference? I made the appointment to have Riley neutered in January. He will be 6 months at that time. Those of you that have had your dogs spayed or neutered did you see a difference in their personalities or temperament? I have read that it will make them more calm and less likely to bite (which he is very nippy at the moment) and less likely to mark his territory. I am just curious if anyone saw anything negative (more aggressive ect.) in doing this. Any responses would be appreciated..I am really nervous about him going through this but I know that my vet will take really good care of him... Thanks! Christa:D |
I didnt notice any change in Zoey. |
I didn't notice any difference at all :) I'm sure your baby will be just fine, and you trusting your vet is the most important thing :) I will say a little prayer for your baby that all goes well! |
I didn't notice any difference at all in the way Lacy acted...her personality and activity level have been exactly the same. |
Archie was fine after his operation -- he has always had a wonderful temperment, but he was very "pesky" as a pup -- just busy, busy and kind of nuts, you know? He also chewed on my hands all the time. After the operation he did calm down, but it took almost a month for me to see a change. I recently heard from a vet that it can take that long for the testosterone to get out of their systems. He had never started the marking behavior, even though he was 7 months when I had him neutered. He also recovered very quickly -- I'm sure with your TLC and your vet's care, your baby will too! |
No difference here with the boy or girls...it does make the boys better pets..! |
I saw no change in max at all. He was 5 months when he had the surgery and did not mark before and now at a year old he still doesnt mark. In his personality there was no change either. |
I too saw no change in Millie after the operation. I think her getting older made more of a significant change than the operation. I noticed a big difference in her at around age 8 mos, again at 1 year, again at 15-16mos and again at 2 years. The older she got the more she settled down, listened better, was more consistent in meeting my demands, and overall less work. |
